Heavy and noisy
Too heavy (really!) and very noisy. Difficult to see water level due to colour of window. Slightly tight lid will probably lead to rust in the future, I reckon. I hate these black cords with cream appliances - whydo they always have them nowadays! Having said all this, I realised everything except the noise and the filling level issues before I started using this kettle and still kept it because it looks great with the matching filter coffee machine and a cream Kenwood 2 slice toaster purchased separately. So depends whether aesthetics matter more to you than functionality.

Wow, an almost plastic free kettle!!
The reason I bought this kettle, is I wanted one with as little plastic inside as possible. Most modern kettles are full of it and I'm still sceptical as to how safe it is for our health long term. This model only uses plastic in the pour filter (Can be removed) and water fill gauge. So it's probably the best you're going to get these days. This model looks very stylish and has a nice retro feel to it. It really does look nice quality!Sadly the kettle isn't perfect and for the money I expected it to be.1/ The kettle is quite noisy whilst boiling.2/ It's not all that fast.3/ The gauge isn't clear, making it difficult to see how much water is in it. (Poor sighted will find it a nightmare).4/ lid can be a little tight to pull off.5/ Far too expensiveThankfully I got this kettle for £28 as a return in Sainsbury's, but it's not worth over £35 in my opinion. If you're desperate for an almost plastic free kettle, then I guess you may have to pay full price for it, as there aren't many to choose from. :(
