The Auerds Wireless CarPlay Adapter has some good features but also some frustrating drawbacks. When it works, it performs well — music sounds clear, calls come through cleanly, and using Google Maps wirelessly is awesome. The setup process was simple, and when connected, it feels just like using wired CarPlay. However, the main issue is reliability. The connection tends to drop fairly often, and sometimes it won’t reconnect without having to reset or unplug the device, which gets annoying over time. The overall experience is good when it stays connected, but the frequent disconnections make it hard to recommend. Usually it has an issue shortly after starting your vehicle. Overall, it’s a decent product if you can deal with occasional connection issues, but if you need a completely reliable wireless CarPlay experience, you might want to consider other options.

UPDATE- I’m adding a star for customer support, who reached out several times to help me fix the issues. I haven’t had to re-pair since. —- I want so much to love this thing. It paired the first time I plugged it in without my even having to set up, and it worked great for a couple of days. It takes a good 20-30 seconds to pair when I start the car, but I don’t have to reset anything. There’s a significant 3.5 second lag between when you touch a button and when it responds. For example, when I hit skip on my steering wheel or the car screen, I have enough time to think I need to hit it again, and then it skips. Annoying, but I can get used to that. Then it started freezing on the pairing screen. So I “forgot” the device on my phone and re-paired. Again, worked great for a while, and now it drops some of the functions, such as volume control and song skipping from the Pandora app. I’ll keep resetting as I have to, but I’d love a device that works like the corded should.
