In-depth but easy to read
I purchased this book to use with a grad class in multiple regression, where the syllabus follows the book closely. I don't know how easy-to-use the book would be without a supporting class, but in class and doing homework, it is extremely helpful. Carefully and plainly explains every aspect of multiple regression. Leaves out or segregates (in "black box" explanations) the complicated math that the computers do for us.This book does NOT include steps for using SPSS or any other stats package, but acknowledges you will be using a computer for calculation. All the better in my opinion, as it won't become obsolete after the next major software revision. This text is often cited when using multiple regression in a published study.

Best statistics book I've read.
I have never felt compelled to write a review for a textbook before, but this is easily the best statistics book I've ever read. The authors are able to make the complex material easy to understand, and maintain a certain level of lightheartedness, sarcasm and humor throughout the text that actually lead me to chuckle out loud on a few occasions, from a stats textbook! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to understand how to do regression and stay awake doing so!

Great books for graduate psych students
This is a staple in my advanced/graduate psychology research methods courses and for a reason, it is undeniably one of the best books out there on regression and correlation. That being said--I did struggle with some of the reading and found that some of the more complex concepts can be explained more clearly in Fields' book. Nonetheless this is one of the most comprehensive books out there on regression. If you're looking for more of a multi-dimensional research methods book--I would go with Tabatchnick and Fidell.

Required Reading
This text is required reading for a doctoral level statistics course. It arrived on time and in good condition as promised by the seller. I have not read it as yet, a bit turned off by the typesetting, but will do so soon to prepare for my first class on 9/11.

The classic, this is at least my 3rd copy ...
The classic, this is at least my 3rd copy, as the others disappear from my office. If you do regression in the social sciences, you need this book. Seriously.

I would love it to be a little more accessible
A bit dense but it doesn't skimp on details or conceptual foundations. I would love it to be a little more accessible, but I understand the topic inherently has some accessibility issues.

Second Grad Stats
I've adopted this text for my graduate seminar in Multiple Regression. I choose it over other texts for the topics AND because it's focus is on concepts rather than math. Now that we can carry SPSSX in our brief case, there is no need to focus on that computation.

I pity anyone else also having to read this
This is a mandatory text for my advanced regression course and only having covered the first several chapters I would have to say that this book is very technical in explanation and lacks clarity. The writing is highly mathematically based as opposed to conceptual and contains many errors. I would suggest a Tabachnick and Fidell text for those wishing to gain a greater understanding of the material.
