50-040 Underlayment Seam Tape 100 ft. Red

This is a great all-around tape for marking bins, wrapping up bundles, attaching plastic tablecloths to holiday parade floats as side skirts, and it tapes underlayment pretty well too.

This tape work perfectly for securing different pieces of underlayment together. It also worked on securing starter and side pieces to the cement substrate so it doesn't move around during flooring installation. Easy to cut with scissors or tear by hand if you prefer. Tape is nicely thin, so the floor going over it doesn't know it is there. Had all the strength I needed. I am very happy with this tape and recommend it.

This is fine. It rips really easily if your pull angle is too wide, closer to the floor works best to prevent ripping. It held down some cork underlay well, it didn’t hold together some plastic sheeting we had used to protect a different floor.

It stick to the floor with ease and stays in place. Good material and quality

Strong tape that adhered very well to my underlayment. The tape made tight seams that held up well during flooring installation. The only issue I noticed is that it is not forgiving and does not like to be reseated. If you miss your seam and need to pull it up a bit to reposition it, you may as well cut the tape there and apply a new piece because the adhesion wears off once it is removed. A small issue that hardly impacts it's usability but worth noting. I really like this tape and have used about 10 rolls so far.

I used this on a recent flooring project, and was happy with the results === The Good Stuff === * The tape has enough adhesive to stick to the foil of most underlayment. It is, however, easy enough to unroll, and it resists tearing. You will probably want to use a utility knife to cut it. * The tape is thin enough that it doesn't really add anything to the height of the underlayment. * It unrolls easily enough so that one person can run a 20' piece without any help or spotters. === The Not-So-Good Stuff === * Nothing really. My preference would have been for larger rolls, but not really a problem. === Summary === This worked well and did what it was supposed to do. By the way, if you are tempted to do without it and just lay the underlayment down, you can probably get away with that....until a little piece of the aluminum foil flap works its way into a joint, and now you have a shiny, glittery highlight to your new floor.

I ordered two rolls to seal a vapor barrier under a vinyl plank floor. The first roll was difficult to unroll, and repeatedly would start splitting in half every foot or so. Because it was difficult to unroll, it would stretch, and then after applied to the plastic, it would contract, causing ripples throughout the barrier and making it very difficult to flatten out the underlayment. The second roll did not have either of these problems, it unrolled smoothly and applied smoothly. Both stuck well (were hard to unstick). I would've given the first roll one star and the second four, if reviewing them separately.

Great barrier. Has flex and stretch like painters tape. Anti mold properties. All round great product. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. They also have premium underlayment. Check it out ✅
