The good and the bad
I don't usually write reviews, but another reviewer vented frustration about not getting the camera to work - I too experienced an identical tangle of issues. However, the main issues is the crappy setup instructions. you need to connect BOTH the USB cable and the HDMI cable from the monitor to the computer. The camera will only work if you attach the USB cable - without this setup the camera will not work. Once this is done, it is a great product.

DON'T BUY IT!
The picture on this monitor is amazing! BUT... there are ZERO instructions included in the box for configuring the microphone and the integrated webcam. I installed the driver, I installed the software that was on the CD... couldn't find the camera. I spent an entire evening trying to get this monitor to work! I chatted with HP to get help, they told me that this monitor does not include a webcam - that there is a slot for one, but there isn't actually a webcam included. When I told the agent I could see the camera, and asked to speak to someone else... He gave me the 800 number and then disconnected from me. I tried to reconnect to HP chat to talk to someone else and I couldn't... it said I was disconnected. So I called the 800 number... waited for a L O N G time to speak to someone. When the agent answered, I was asked a few questions and then told I had to speak to another department. He transferred me and I got voicemail and had to leave a message. NO CALL BACK.So today? I packaged that sucker back up and am dropping it off at UPS on Monday to send it back. Yes, I have a return authorization.I am disappointed because the picture on this monitor ROCKED! Beautiful! Super bright and crisp and clear. What the heck, HP??? No installation instructions? No chat support??? Since when???

Macbook Monitor
Rarely leave reviews but I could have used this help. Bought to use with my MacBook Air 2018 model. Connected via usb c and hdmi (must use both) and everything worked. However, the picture on the webcam was snowy and had lines running down it. I started a return but began reading reviews on another site and realized the USB c cable I was using was poor quality. When I switched to the Apple cable... PERFECT. At 1/2 the price of a Thunderbolt Display, same size, same resolution, with a pop-up webcam, this is a steal.

Amazing Picture Quality - Love It!!
After 5 months of video calls on my built-in laptop camera, I couldn't take it anymore. Either the laptop was in the right place for the camera to be comfortable, or for the keyboard to be comfortable which meant by the end of the week my back and shoulders were in knots. I wanted a nice big monitor with a built in camera so I could set up an ergonomic home office. This monitor is amazing! Clear picture, so easy to see and the integrated camera, speakers and mic all work great. Also it was a breeze to install: plugged everything in (using the Display Port connection) turned it on and it was all automatically there. I read a lot of user reviews before purchasing and many people mentioned not realizing the need to install both the video input connection and the USB connection, so was able to avoid that issue. The instructions also clearly indicate you need to do both. Very happy with this product!

Deeply flawed design
At first glance this is a great, albeit absurdly expensive product. It used to be easy to buy 27" monitors with built in webcams for under $250, but nowadays this model is one of the only remaining products in that class. Apparently there's just not much demand for such things. And it is a very high-quality monitor, and the way the webcam recedes into the monitor when not in use is very slick and sure beats the eyesore of sticking a separate webcam on top of your monitor. There's just two problems, and they both have to do with the webcam, which, you know, is the only reason any sane person would buy a monitor this expensive to begin with.First, the webcam cannot be tilted independently from the monitor. It just points straight ahead perpendicular to the screen. Think about how high the top of a 27" monitor is, and think about how high your face is, and the problem is obvious. The webcam is going to be pointed at the top of your head. You'll end up having to tilt the entire monitor down to get a reasonable angle on yourself, which is crazy and annoying and makes it hard to see the MONITOR.That brings us to the second problem: no digital zoom option on the camera. Standalone webcams from other brands typically have a digital or optical zoom. This camera has no such capability even with HP's software installed, and boy does it badly need one. Again, think about how high the top of a 27" monitor is. Think about how far away people tend to place a 27" monitor from their face. The end result of this is, when you're on your Zoom call, everybody else's faces will take up the vast majority of their square, and your face will take up about 20% and you'll look tiny. The only other monitor I've seen with a reasonable webcam built-in was from ASUS, but for some idiotic reason it doesn't include a microphone. So basically, you should give up on your dreams of an all-in-one 27" monitor + webcam, and just buy a standalone webcam.

Perfect.
Awesome monitor. Sleek, anti glare, it spins to portrait which can be great for conference calls while quarantined. The webcam pops up and down when you need it. Kinda heavy and the base is larger than I thought but it’s a beast so it makes sense.

clear, sharp images and easy setup
I thought I had an excellent Dell monitor before I got this one (the Dell died). This monitor was easy to set up and when I turned it on I was surprised at how much better the image is! I've only had it 3 weeks but I'm 100% satisfied so far. The built-in cam is much better than the old one. The built-in speakers are pretty good, but not as good as my old external ones so I am still using those. Highly recommended.

DECENT MONITOR
be aware -- the base of this monitor is rather largethe foot print takes-up a lotta room.... the swivel feature of the base is very welcomethe monitor extends -- height-wise ...which helps for multiple usersthe camera is OKthe sound is not easily adjustable -- and is either too soft or too loud
