It seems to work. We have a countertop compost bin and each time the fruit flies show up, they begin to land inside the little container and drown. Still a pain, but this helps.

meh doesnt last that long....I bought to refill....2nd time purchasing....after about 3 days repels pesty fruit flies/gnats........its ok....I needed it while creating compost

It stinks to high heavens, very much like apple cider vinegar but if it were concentrated. Seems to attract the flies.

Last year my home was infested with fruit flies and I swore that wouldn't happen again. I found and purchased the this fruit fly away and used it in the traps I already had. Within less than a week my traps had way over 50 DEAD flies in them. By the end of the second week my home was completely free of those little terrorist. Last year they survived for over a month and a half and I felt like my home was uninhabitable. This year the problem was solved so fast it was like they popped out of existence before they could multiply and make me feel like I was living in a swamp.
