THREE MONITORS on my MacBook!
Well, technically five if you count the MacBook and the iPad — but that is just too many screens for my eyeballs. So, this is mostly plug and play, and you *do* have to go into settings on your macBook (or PC or whatever), but that is simple enough. Look: sometimes (rarely) this thing won't quite work, but that is an Apple thing. I have to restart my MacBook or open it and close it (I use my MB in clamshell mode and just use an external "Magic" Trackpad and an Apple extended keyboard — both wireless). Why? I want my MB to be 100% "like new" and I want three screens. I am using standard 207" monitors _ two landscape and one portrait mode — and I use them 16+ hours a day every day of the week, every day of the month, so I feel pretty comfortable reporting all of this as factual.95+% of the time I have no issues. This just works. Also you get a LOT of extra ports: USB-A, USB-C, audio ports, and other ones I forget I am using. It's all in the product images. I am just here to report how mine has been working for the past 5 months.*IF* I ever have any issues I just hit the power button on this thing and "reboot it" (that takes less than five seconds) and suddenly everything is working again. This is an Apple issue, not a DisplayLink one. If you do NOT have a docking station like this YOU CANNOT HAVE THIS MANY MONITORS using a standard MB.I know — I asked Apple (repeatedly).Does it get hot? Not really. I just put my hand on it and it felts "warm" (like 80? degrees warm — far from "hot") and it has been on for three weeks straight. I am using two monitors right now with no issues. I would use all three but I just don't need that 3rd monitor right now.Could I use 4 monitors (NOT INCLUDING my MacBook)? I suppose, but you have to appreciate how much room you have to have to set up for LARGE monitors, and the special arm you need to hold these, and the sturdy decks, and the professional grade APC surge-protector/battery backup. You don't want to run four monitors just straight from the wall outlet. That is stupid. Also, four monitors is a lot, but if you need them, this can do it.But also, I can use my iPad Pro as yet ANOTHER display (through my MB, no need to run it through this — hard-connected ("wired") or bluetooth). In fact I think I even once had two iPads connected. It was by accident but it was surreal. If you are a screen junkie 9like me), THIS IS YOUR NEW BFF.And it has lasted . . at least 5 months now? I did my research before buying this. I looked at some other options and I think I even bought a different one. I remember I had tried a few other brands/types and was disappointed, but I didn't want to risk this much money on something that didn't work. That was several months ago. In the end, this is one of the best investments I have made.It. Just. Works.:-)

Very good docking station
I replaced a Dell docking station that was flaking out after 3 years. I have had this displaylink with 3 monitors for over a year now. Been very happy with it.

Just doesn't work
This expensive docking station will not connect without drivers. The problem is that the drivers do not download correctly from the company's website. I am boxing this up and sending it back. I need simplicity - remember plug and play? This costly docking station requires drivers for connection. Unfortunately, the drivers fail to download correctly from the company's website. I am packaging it up to return it. I need something simple, and this is not it.

Great Hub for 4K monitors
I love that there are minor to no issues with this hub that allow 4 4K monitors to link plus the laptop for a 5th screen if desired. I also have found that I am not having issues with raising the Hz settings on the monitors.I certainly use the majority of the ports to link a wireless mouse / keyboard / headset and the occasional linking a phone all at the same time. Versatility was the largest selling point.Note that the picture is showing the elevated laptop connect to all monitors where I just unplug the host cable to switch between laptops

BUY ANOTHER HUB
Connection issues with only 3 monitors, screens on / off , ethernet port very slow (40Mbps verses WiFi 800Mbps, customer support takes forever to contact, email support asks you to conduct troubleshoot steps which one should not need on a plug-play device, very upset - does not charge my usb-c phone or have enough power to drive usb 4" fan.
