Love this camera second one I bought first one stopped working after about a year

They're right, this is what a dash cam should be.... Except the user experience is horrible! Videos are only 30 seconds long!!??? Each video is recorded twice and all videos are piled in the same folder. After one shift rideshare driving it has over 4,000 videos to deal with. This makes dealing with them extremely time consuming. This is a great dash cam but the user experience was so painful I returned it for a different camera.

I have had a Dash Camera in my car for years now and with the new connected tech coming out, when I bought a new car I had to step up my Dash Cam for full protection when I'm with my car and when I am away from it. The features that this camera came with and what they are planning to bring to the feature set is OFF THE CHARTS! I have loved getting live notifications if anyone is around my car when I have it parked in the city, I get to receive updates when my kids are driving my car out on their weekend nights and if the worst case scenario happens and someone steals my car the footage is sent up to the cloud and accessible versus losing the camera and the footage of the break in. When I purchased it here on Amazon, I went to BestBuy Geek Squad to have it professionally installed. It was an easy plug in to the OBD port under the steering wheel but it was great to have Best Buy conceal the wiring. Definitely LOVE my purchase here, thinking to put it into my son's car when I buy him one in the spring.

I have simply been trying to replace my OWLCAM record interior and front and had LIVE remote viewing, went through every dashcam 6 total and finally piad up for this IQ and it went in easy hooked to OBD and it does NOTHING except rebuffering for over 24 hours, no QR code no reply from Nextbase, so this is being returned today. this is crazy

I bought the Nextbase iQ 1K Smart HD Dash Cam Pro with 64G Micro SD Card Bundle in Nov 2023. Love the camera and the features, but have had issues with the subscription billing and the bluetooth staying connected. The subscription issue was that it took forever for the app to allow a credit card to be accepted. Finally one was, then I was double billed. 10 days now and still trying to rectify that - and they ask for things like invoices (which for the app autobill do not exist) and all kinds of information regarding the camera / sd card (which outside the camera SN seems unrelated to me - esp after providing copies of my bank statement that clearly state "Nextbase" on it). The bluetooth connection has been spotty at best, and takes away from some of the features of the camera. So this was an expensive education. Will probably move on to something else.

Simply download the Nextbase iQ app, create an account, and follow the prompts to connect the dashcam to the vehicle's OBD port. I've used the pre-installed double-sided tape on the main camera unit to attach it to the windshield behind the mirror, so it does not obstruct my view. Next, I pulled the roof trim a bit with a flat plastic tool and routed power wires to the left and down behind the pillar trim to reach the car's OBDII port. This way everything was concealed and looked professionally installed. It took me probably 1 hour end-to-end to get it installed and connected. Once connected, the app walks users through the setup process, allowing for customization of settings and preferences to suit individual needs. In terms of performance, the Nextbase iQ delivers exceptional results across the board. The high-resolution cameras capture crisp and clear footage both inside and outside the vehicle, ensuring that every detail is recorded accurately. Whether driving during the day or night, in clear weather or adverse conditions, the iQ performs admirably, producing footage that is sharp, detailed, and reliable. Talking about the features, there are plenty and they all are awesome. Smart Sense parking mode is an excellent feature that will notify you if there is any movement or danger around your car when you are parking. Roadwatch AI is something that I have never seen before, and it will use AI to detect any potential dangers on the road while you are driving and will alert you using voice prompts. Also, there is SOS mode that would automatically request emergency help if it detected that your car was involved in an accident. And Witness mode will send footage of events to a designated person for review and reference. All the features are accessible via app and the app itself is well designed and easy to use. The Live View function enables vehicle monitoring from virtually any location since it has an included 4G connection (like a cellphone). And customizable alerts allow you to control what you want to know about no matter where you are. My main complaint about this camera is that it requires you to purchase a subscription to use its cellular connection and advanced features. While it's usable without the subscription cost as a basic dash cam, you would be better suited to just purchasing another dashcam at a lower price point, as many of the extra features that set the iQ 2K apart are unlocked with the added subscription service. There is a 3-month trial subscription option, and the subscription primarily covers live viewing and additional security features, and while it may appear costly, an annual payment discount is available. Was using the obd cable. Blew a fuse a month after installing. A week later I get an email stating they had no more of those cables and I need to rewiring the camera. I also found there is no features on this camera unless you pay for a subscription, which is imo over priced.
