Q: Will the green colour stained the engine permanently just in case I wanted to return to regular oil?

I did not notice any impact from the color of the oil in my engine.

Q: My high mileage chevy colorado has subtle oil leaks and never used synthetic before. should i switch to this or not?

Will it help with leaks - no. Might save your engine if oil level drops too low. Had that happen on my 09 mini copper. Got me home, when engine would have overheated with low level of normal oil. Just personal experience, checked after coming back from long trip and oil level didn’t even reach dip stick. If that ever happens, remember to replace oil right away, as all additives are used up and oil probably burned. Otherwise, pretty good oil. Just make sure it matches specks for your vehicle. Aside from higher cost, don’t see any other reasons not to use synthetic. And even then, replacement intervals are longer, which offsets higher price.
