Close-Up Toothpaste, Refreshing Red Gel, Anticavity Fluoride, Cinnamon, 6 Oz (Pack of 4)

I had always used mint-flavored toothpastes, but was never pleased with how I still had "coffee breath" after brushing. Sure, it was "minty" coffee breath, but you could still smell it. Then I remembered reading in a pharmacy journal about the science of flavorings. For example, butterscotch is the best flavor to use when making compounds (for ingestion) that use bitter-tasting medicines. Saltiness (which is the best way to describe butterscotch) covers bitter flavors. As an aside, that's why sprinkling salt on grapefruit makes it taste better than sugar does. The article suggested that cinnamon is the best flavoring for after coffee. According to the article, rather than just covering up the coffee odor, cinnamon actually neutralizes the smell of the compound(s) that cause the odor. Fast forward to today. Close-Up is the only toothpaste I've been able to find that still has a cinnamon flavor. Yes, another brand has a mint/cinnamon flavor mix, but it just isn't as effective as Close-Up. Unfortunately, stores in my area have stopped carrying the product, so Amazon is my only supplier now. I just hope the company that makes it doesn't stop.

Breath smells very good and also whitening teeth.

I am not a huge fan of peppermint flavor which is the “standard” flavor in toothpaste. I can still remember my mom buying this toothpaste when I was first a teenager, gulp, 50 years ago! I loved the fresh/different taste of it. I felt back then, (and still do today) that it left my mouth fresher tasting much longer than other peppermint brands. As an avid coffee lover, I love coffee while drinking, but hate how my mouth tastes and breath smells after I’m done. I don’t enjoy other people’s coffee breath either! I feel this toothpaste removes that taste better than other brands, and leaves me with a cinnamony freshness! I also LOVE Close Up mouthwash! I wish more stores would carry both of these products!!

My favorite toothpaste! Bought in bulk because I can’t find it anywhere in the stores and not about to go searching for it in person with Covid lurking!

Arrived quickly, ordered it bc our local stores quit carrying it. I mean, it’s just toothpaste, what kind of review can I give? It’s my husbands favorite toothpaste.

This is the ONLY toothpaste on the market that is cinnamon and NOT MINT! I love it and reorder every time I need. PLEASE, DO NOT DISCONTINUE!!!
