4 Way Switched Fused 13 Amp Converter Socket 1 or 2 Gang Sockets to 4 Gang

It fits. Is reasonably unobtrusive. It means not pulling plugs out that need to be on constantly. No trailing leads.

I bought 5 but one was received with a hole missing in the plastic back plate - something that's easily fixed though. They fit well in the current 2-gang hole and the individual switches are useful. They look as good as the original sockets, though stick further out the wall. A quick and simple way to expand sockets without using extension leads or getting an electrician in.

Easy enough to fit, heavy cables not so easy to work with. Difficult to get the replacement screws in, after a few swear words, done looks good.

Easy to fit unit and is a safer way to extend your socket number than using numerous extension cords.Also cheaper than running a new socket track through the wall needing an electrician.The fused socket on the end comes with a 13Amp pre inserted so no worries about needing extras there.The pull out draw to access that fuse however is fiddly and getting the fuse out is awkward at best.The unit does stick out from the wall a lot more than a normal socket. 50mm of clearance is needed with plugs in, not including the space to position the plugs to insert them so very tight spaces are not recommended.Just wish it had USB sockets.

What i like about this plug socket is that its an option that actually works and looks great on the wall. The socket itself is very easy to install and by following the instructions i had it connected and screwed to the baseplate in 10 mins. I love the fact that i can now have my plugs sitting side by side and not either an extension lead or an extension plug. It’s always been a bug bear of my to see an overflowing plug extender literally hanging out of the socket because of the weight of 3 plugs and god forbid i try to add a 4th. As some plus come in a fixed moulded plug your not always able to use more than 2 points on it anyway. But with this socket you don’t have any of those issues. I went from one socket to four. Best decision i made

Over the years I've bought several converter sockets and generally have not been impressed with either the safety or the quality of construction. (One of them failed after a short time, so I dismantled it to find that the switches were flimsy and not fit for purpose). This is the best of the bunch - reasonably robust, solid feel to the switches, no obvious safety concerns. Issues? Well the terminals are not really of sufficient diameter to accommodate 3x 2.5mm2 single core wires, so installation is a struggle if there is a spur off the ring. Also, the projection of the socket from the wall is considerable, making it appear to be surface mounted.
