Needed a polishing motor that wouldn't bog down
I build all my tool stands using simi brake drums and schedule 40-8" pipe .It makes a heavy duty stand that will not tip over. This polishing motor has good torque and suits my needs very well. Good price for what it is. No vibration. I read a review stating it was dangerous??I've been polishing for over 55 years and have found what makes a machine dangerous is the person being careless. Treat it with respect and you'll be safe. I polish large motor parts down to custom carburetors and do it safety. It can be done. I was very happy with this polishing motor until it came loose from its base. returned for a second polisher which is solid so far, That's why you get the warranty.

Stopped working after 2 years of very light use
I used this buffer infrequently and lightly. It worked fine for the first year, but started emitting an odor and slowed down to a crawl after a while. I just tried to turn it on (~ 2 years after purchase) and it rotates very slowly now.

same specs as units costing 4 times as much!
ive been looking to replace my 80 dollar HF buffer, but have been discouraged by the cost of these large buffers. this one fit my price range and provides the power and speed ive been seeking. very happy with this purchase.

RPM's is too high for 8" wheels
With 8" wheels, this is probably the most dangerous tool I own, and should not be sold or used with 8 inch wheels. I have lathes, mills, welders, but nothing scares me more than this thing. I am just waiting for the wheel to separate and take a chunk of my head off or blow through my safety glasses and lose my eye.It looks good, runs good, it's just crazy fast for 8" wheels. Using 6" wheels is probably OK.

Well built, power to spare.
Really does a great job and quickly. Plenty of power, super quiet. The buffing wheels throw off a lot of threads for the first bit of use. It is not two speed as some reviews state. A great addition to the shop.
