Works well!
Finally a meat thermometer that works like it should. Easily readable, has a light and the temperature doesn’t randomly go blank like the 2 others I have. Stays on Fahrenheit (or Celsius if you prefer) without switching mid reading. It will even hold the reading if you want. Good item.

Great
Great, easy to use product. Quick temp reading. I use this several times a week. A little water got stuck in the display but it dried out after a few days, and did not cause any problems, which made me very happy!

Works great! Short battery life.
This thermometer works great! It reads the same temperature as my other thermometer. I like how long it is, which allows for ease of use.It has been a little over a year since I purchased and the batteries are dead. I don't use the thermometer very often (maybe once every 2 months, so I assumed they would last longer. I am not sure if there was an issue with the thermometer not turning off when done or if the batteries only last this long.I am torn between repurchasing this devices or buying a pack of lr44h batteries. The price seems similar.

Great deal and no more scorched knuckles on the BBQ.
Works great and having an extra long tip makes for easier temperature checking on the BBQ.The backlight also helps for easier reading of the temperature.

Faster read and longer probe than my old Taylor Meat Thermometer
I've been looking for a deal on an inexpensive meat thermometer to replace the old Taylor (bottom in pic) one I've had for ages. The Taylor one was well made and lasted for well over a decade, however it was banged up pretty badly during our last Thanksgiving dinner when we accidentally put it back into the oven with the Turkey. While the thermometer still works, the plastic was warped enough that the battery cap would not stay in place anymore.I picked up the ThermoPro TP01A for under ten dollars and for the price, I am quite satisfied. The probe is 2 inches longer than my old Taylor, which comes in handy for larger food items (Hams and Turkeys). The temperature read is definitely faster, perhaps a second or two difference which is a plus. The downside is that it uses 2 batteries versus 1 for the Taylor. However, this might just mean it lasts longer than the Taylor as the overall functions between the two are the same and I can't imagine the electronics are vastly different. I like the option of the indigo backlight, which is also helpful especially when used at night and in the oven where light might be scarce.I wish there were a better cap (instead of the plastic cover that will easily be lost), or a way to clip it to something. But for all the bells and whistles, I'd have to pay a bit more which I'm not interested in doing. For anyone looking for a simple, fast and inexpensive meat thermometer, the ThermoPro TP01A is a solid purchase.

Sensor good, included battery is terrible
The temperature comes up quickly and matches my other thermometers, so the important part works. The battery was dead within a few weeks. I suspect the automatic shutoff is not working properly. The two LR44 batteries tested at just over 1.2V, which is surprisingly high voltage for a "dead" 1.5 battery, especially considering the falloff curve for the LR44 cells. The alkaline battery is pretty terrible anyway with a high risk of leaking, and I've replaced with two equivalent silver oxide cells that so far are lasting longer. If these also run down before the Amazon return period it will be returned, because I don't want to keep replacing batteries almost as expensive as the thermometer itself!
