This little gadget transformed my car’s system. No more fumbling with cables or digging my phone out every time – it connects automatically within seconds of starting the engine. CarPlay and Android Auto both work smoothly. It’s genuinely plug-and-play – I was half expecting to need an IT degree to set it up, but it worked right out of the box. Audio, navigation, and messaging all function without lag. Now my only complaint is that I have no excuse for ignoring texts at red lights. Super easy to set up. My wife's new iPhone was disconnecting from our cars wired CarPlay but all sorted now.

Unit itself is ok but quality control and support is non existent. The USB A to C cable in the box does not work and seems to only have the charge pins and not the data pins connected. This is a manufacturing fault as other people have been supplied working cables so seems to be random as yo what you get. Emailed their support ([email protected] taken from amazon support page) twice (12th and 15th May and no reply) and even fed back via amazon support survey they did not respond. Still nothing. So if they are supplying units with cables that do not work then I cannot recommend. Ended up having to pay £15 for a 3rd party cable due to lack of quality control and zero support. This extra cost makes it way more expensive than other units on the market and gives me zero confidence if the unit develops an issue. They do not honour their warranty. Such a shame they take you money and run. Buyer beware!

The v4.0 model was never happy with android to Volvo. Very unreliable and CarPlay to Volvo never even connected. V5.0 worked out of the box on both iPhone and android. Latency is much improved. Waze still has its problems which can be overcome by unplugging and re plugging the usb cable.

This product works as well for me as the built in wireless android auto in my previous car (VAG group). (Have had one disconnect so far, but was able to reconnect immediately - I think that's as much the software in the head unit, as that happened from time to time with built in wireless on my previous vehicle) Item is straightforward to setup, but may require forgetting your Bluetooth connection to your car (if you had already setup) as now your Bluetooth connection needs to be to this device. Item is quite compact (smaller than and half the thickness of a matchbox) and comes with a sticky strip to fix it in place if required. It does have a relatively bright status LED, but as long as it's not in direct line of sight, it should not be distracting. Very happy with this product.

It has its pros and cons. Pros: fast connection to the car. Hassle free, no cables needed to have carplay. Cons: connection sometimes fail. I was using the navigation and it disconnected right in a roundabout. Also the sound quality can drop and have interferences. Will probably return. I’d rather use a cable than getting stuck in the traffic because the bluetooth connection was lost. Maybe I just had bad luck though.

This is one of those products which should be brilliant and have people ditching their cables for Android Auto in the car. For a time, it did exactly that for me.... Unfortunately, this company seems to have taken the approach of thinking the marketing budget is more important than the development budget! So, what we are left with is a product that will work, but is not designed with enough robustness (better quality boards and soldering required) for an environment where it will have more demands placed upon it (a car) than a product that sits in a stable envornment (your home). That is why it worked perfectly for a few weeks, then a brief period of intermittant working before total failure! In short. Ignore the pictures, the claims and the recommendations from people reviewing this over a brief period of use. It is really not fit for the purpose for which it is designed. I rarely have to leave a review where I categorically advise people NOT to buy a product, but this is one of those times.

Very quick delivery. My second wireless car play device. The first was a different make and a nightmare to set up. Returned that and received a full refund. This was completely the opposite. Very easy to set up and works a treat. So impressed I gave it to my daughter for her car and bought a second. Early days but very happy so far.

Ik heb tegen verschillende vrienden en familieleden gezegd dat de CarlinKit 5.0 mijn beste aankoop van het jaar is. Hiermee heb ik eindelijk draadloze CarPlay in mijn auto, en dat is in het dagelijks gebruik echt een enorme meerwaarde. Hij koppelt snel en automatisch met mijn iPhone, en daarna is het bijna hetzelfde als een bekabelde verbinding, maar dan zonder kabel en gedoe. Je kunt je telefoon gewoon in je zak laten zitten. Met de juiste instellingen komen haperingen in de verbinding echt bijna nooit voor. Ik gebruik hem dagelijks en heb hooguit eens in de drie maanden dat hij niet verbindt. Dan is het een kwestie van heel even de kabel eruit en er weer in, en dan doet hij het weer. Bij het aanraken of swipen over het scherm merk je geen enkele vertraging. Alleen wanneer je muziek gaat afspelen, pauzeert of naar een volgend nummer wil skippen, merk je ten opzichte van een bekabelde verbinding een korte vertraging van een seconde. In de praktijk heb je daar echt geen last van. Tot mijn aangename verrassing merk ik helemaal niet veel invloed op de batterijduur van mijn iPhone. Natuurlijk wordt de iPhone bij het gebruik van de CarlinKit niet automatisch opgeladen zoals bij bedrade CarPlay, maar als je hem intussen toch wil opladen of wil gebruiken bij urenlange ritten, dan kun je de telefoon gewoon opladen via een extra USB-poort als je auto die heeft, of anders via de sigarettenaansteker. Absolute aanrader!

Decir que llevaba tiempo pensando en comprar uno de estos dispositivos para mi coche, pero me preocupaban muchos de los problemas que reportaban los usuarios en diferentes marcas y modelos, En ocasiones, por fallos en el teléfono, en otros casos, por fallos, con la conexión al coche, o por la latencia o el gasto de batería. Decir que llevo usando el dispositivo aproximadamente un mes, y lo primero que hice fue instalarlo rápidamente, dado que es extremadamente sencillo, actualizar el firmware del dispositivo, que también es muy sencillo y rápido, y empezar a usarlo, ya que solo se tiene que emparejar con el teléfono con el Wi-Fi y el Bluetooth que es automático. En mi caso tengo un iPhone 12 y la conexión se hace perfectamente muy pocos segundos y es totalmente estable durante el viaje, siendo la latencia en la conexión prácticamente nula y el uso de mapas o música prácticamente en tiempo real, sin fallos ni retrasos. En cuanto al gasto de batería no es elevado, y el calentamiento del teléfono móvil es bastante bajo por lo general, solo en un par de ocasiones se ha calentado más posiblemente por el uso de una aplicación en segundo plano o simplemente por una mala carga de esta pero como digo, han sido momentos muy puntuales , por lo general, el uso durante el trayecto en el coche y el gasto de batería es más que aceptable. Cabe decir que dependerá mucho del teléfono móvil de cada uno del estado de la batería de cada teléfono y de las versiones de Bluetooth que tenga tu coche o tu teléfono móvil, ya que las versiones más antiguas de Bluetooth gastan mucha más batería que las más nuevas . El dispositivo es mucho más pequeño de lo que parecen las fotos y viene con cables USB para poder conectarlo, en mi caso lo he pegado con un adhesivo que viene en la caja en una zona del salpicadero donde prácticamente no se ve, y dado su tamaño Queda perfectamente colocado en el coche. Otra de las cosas que me parecen muy positivas es que el dispositivo llevan los laterales zonas para poder ventilar el calor y esto se nota en usos prolongados, ya que nunca llega a calentarse en exceso por el momento muy contento con la compra y espero Que el rendimiento que tiene actualmente dure, de no ser así, ya lo haría saber en esta opinión. Por otra parte, recomiendo un dispositivo de carga por inducción para tu móvil para conectarlo también en el coche y así compensar la batería que vayas consumiendo mientras lo usas, yo he comprado una alfombrilla de carga por inducción que no solo compensa El gasto de batería, mientras uso este dispositivo, sino que en trayectos largos consigo ganar carga, es el complemento perfecto.
