Grangers Down Wash / Ultimate High Performance Cleaner for Down Outerwear & Sleeping Bags / 1ltr

I have an expensive down sleeping bag and this product works great and keeping the bag clean and waterproof. It is expensive for the quantity, but worth it.

This stuff worked like a charm in cleaning our 30 year old down mummy sleeping bags. I just followed the directions. It completely restored the loft of the down and left the bags with no scent or odor. If you don't have the platic spiked balls that come in the kit, woolen drying balls or clean tennis balls will work just fine. I tried both the spiked balls and wool balls with equivalent results. Beats taking the down stuff to the dry cleaners where it will come back with that chemical smell.

I wanted to do some laundry (sleeping bag) and I needed to use the correct detergent.I threw the mss in the front loader put in three cap fulls. It never over suds. Then I threw the bag into the dryer. 45min. Later I took the bag out and it seems to be pretty clean. No perfume smell.It’s not a magic wand.It does a good job.Not real fluffy, but cleaner than it was.I may have to wash it one more time.It’s worth a try.

I used this for the first time this past winter on my family's heavy down coats and jackets. Prior to this I would wash down and technical gear in shortwash detergent or Tide Clear n Free, thinking that those wash out completely and would do just as well on down items as they do on Gore-Tex jackets...and I was totally wrong! This Granger's Down Wash restored the loft completely to an 18 year old North Face Nuptse jacket, a 5 year old North Face Gotham jacket, my wife's new Marmot Montreal coat, and, most impressively, my new Marmot Stockholm jacket.Why was I more impressed by the Stockholm being returned to full loft? Well, it was so full and puffy when I first bought it that it seemed to need to shed for the first 3-4 months that I wrote it. Seriously, my black cloth driver's seat looked like I let an Alaskan husky drive my car everyday. After awhile, it seemed to lose some loft and I assumed that it had just reached the tipping point where it was finally not overstuffed and that was why it was no longer shedding. After all, the loft didn't return to the overfilled look of when I first bought the jacket when I washed it with sportswash. However, when I washed it the second time with Grangers Down Wash, it lofted the down tob how it was when I first bought the coat. A huge added bonus to maximizing the loft was that the jacket became way warmer than when the down was compressed, tob the point where I found myself needing to leave the jacket unzipped a bit even on bitterly cold January days.I will definitely be using this detergent exclusively for my down coats from here on out.

Works great for down outerwear. I washed 2 down vests, one in like new condition, and one very old and fragile. Both came out clean. Removed musty odors from being stored in a damp basement.As recommended - dry on low or no-heat with some wool dryer balls to restore loft.I will continue to use on my down and synthetic outerwear, and I trust it enough to use on my down sleeping bag when it needs washed.

Cleans and protects. Great product. I use it for all downs and synthetics.

I am so glad I bought this. Our down coats usually need a refresher mid winter and this does the trick. I also spilled coffee all over a coat and this got the smell out of it. I would try more of the Granger products because this one worked so well.

Update: replacement bottle cap was not broken. Product itself worked great, but cap is too fragile. Increasing rating to 3.I bought the 1 liter version. Based on previous reviews, I knew the cap was fragile, so was careful opening the package. The packaging was OK, but the cap was so lightweight, it had already been shattered, so I would have no way to close after use. With 1 liter, you need a cap that won't break! Product may be good, but cap design is very poor.

This works awesome and is so much cheaper than the alternatives down washes. You get 1L for the price of Nikwax 300mls and the Grangers does a lot better job!

Great refill pack

Has certainly revitalized two down filled coats--they have more loft and other than fading of the fabric from age, they appear new in terms of functionality. Also used on a synthetic sleeping bag which probably didn't need this cleanser but which turned out well.
