Brass 2nd Stage Quick Disconnect

I love these disconnects. Well built and always work. I disconnect my second stages and take them with me on a multi day dive trip. Leave my plugged 1st stage and hoses with my BC on the boat for the dive shop to rinse and clean. Because the hoses are sealed with these units disconnected, I don't have to worry about improper rinsing of my second stage regs which I clean back at the hotel... my way. Additionally, nobody will steal my regulator without the second stages attached. I have expensive regs, so it's worth the extra effort. Been diving for over 40 years (2,000+ dives) and I appreciate good, well built equipment.

These are fantastic. The release is very easy to grab and pull back, even with thick gloves. Hard to tell in the pic, but the release collar is a narrow flange that protrudes out a fair amount. It also has a lock (the black section), which you can tighten up against the release mechanism (by turning it like a nut) to prevent accidental release, which I did not expect -- very pleased about that. Also did not realize that this is the type which you can just press on to connect, without having to pull back on the collar first. The parts feel very solid and well made -- I expect it will last a long time. I bought two sets: one for my primary 2nd stage full face mask, and the other for my pony bottle. That way I could switch to my pony in an emergency, without having to remove my full mask. I haven't had to do that in the water, but have tested it at the surface, with the air on.

Best quality to cost ratio of an LP hose QD out there. So far, has performed flawlessly. Technically they are not considered “high flow” for FFMs, so use that information as you’d like… but I’ve used them on standard regs and an OTS guardian, and have breathed easily either way. Now, if I was doing a deep tech dive where I couldn’t afford an additional point of failure… then maybe I’d take it off… but for an NDC diving, this seems like a great convenience for swapping regs.

The locking feature is a must, i find turning the collar little difficult w dry gloves on. At close to half price of omni swivel, i feel lile this feels better quality. Omni is little lighter and smaller. But mine lasted 2 years before it started to leak and by the end it was wasting alot of air. I tried to replace o rings but seems to use rare size o rings... anyways ive switched over and so far enjoy using this quick release more. Definetly easier to connect w air pressure already on than omni.

This quick disconnect is a must-have for folks who own a full-face scuba mask. Before I purchased this item, I had to remove my full-face mask from my first-stage regulator each time I wanted to use it. My full-face mask has a separate storage bag, and when I tried to store my mask with the regulator attached, I had to take extra care to ensure it didn't scratch the lens. Now, I can store the mask separate from the first stage. I also bought an extra male quick disconnect fitting so I could attach it to my standard 2nd stage regulator whenever I wanted to quickly exchange my full-face mask with my normal regulator with a mouthpiece.

The XS Scuba connectors will connect to both the male and female ends of the non check valve equipped Omni QC6 connectors. However, the male Omni connectors with check valves are approximately .007" larger in diameter than the XS Scuba male connectors and the XS Scuba female connectors will not fit. If you need to connect / interchange with these Omni male connectors with a check valve: OSI-QDM-CV; OSI-QDM-CV-YM; or OSI-QDM-CV-ZF; do not get the XS Scuba connector.

Has never failed, very durable. Make swapping out regulators very easy.

seals are good quality but would have like to see thicker thread walls on the male fitting, the aluminum feels weak. The female fitting is of good build and I like the threaded lock mechanism. SS fittings by xs scuba would be a more robust option for the price.
