This stuff is great. I had a mouse problem a few years ...
This stuff is great. I had a mouse problem a few years ago. I don't like traps (yuck). The electronic sound devices didn't work - the mice sang along. But when I tried this stuff the mice disappeared. I had no problems until a rat moved into a storage shed. One application and the rat was gone and 2 years later it hasn't returned. Last week a mouse got in the house - I thru the remainder of the Shake Away at it and it took off but returned 2 days later. By then I had a new supply, sprinkled it around and it seems to have worked. The smell is a bit pungent at first but soon dissipates - f

SAVE YOUR MONEY--THIS DOESN'T WORK-AT ALL !!
WE have had bird feeders for years, and suddenly we have an infestation of rats or mice that come out at night and completely [and I mean COMPLETELY] empty 2 hugebird feeders...We love our birds so stopped filling the feeders for over a week [this broke my heart, as they would still fly down as they always did with nothing there].I then saw this 'Shake Away' on Amazon "to repel Rodents" and "creates te illusion that predators are present in your lawn or garden"What a bunch of Crap !!I sprinked the powder- more like wet sand- as directed, and although it said you only had to sprinkle it once a week, I sprinkled it all over again under the bird feeders, just before handging the feeders up- all full of fresh seed for the birds the next morning. We'd had the feeders now down for 2 weeks, I'd sprinkled TWICE THE AMOUNT of Shake Away as was recommended around before re-hanging up the bird feeders...andwhat did we see when we woke up the next morning ?? Nice full feeders ?? NO !! Both feeders were totally cleaned out !!..So much for the Praise of those who said "Wow, this stuff works !!!"... The positive reviews were probably all written by some PR [public relations Co].. not real people !!SAVE YOUR MONEY !! DO NOT BUY THIS STUFF.. IT'S WORTHLESS !! judy

Works great for me
I had mice in my garage, who were also going up the walls into my attic where I have a walk in door from the second story to store a ton of stuff. I live in a fairly rural area in the high desert of CA and have Hanta Virus so need to be cautious of mouse droppings. I tried all kinds of mouse traps and realized I was fighting a losing battle. I would rather repel the mice that keep catching them. I went online and read about repelling mice. Lots of people use peppermint oil. Like a lot of reviews, 50% hate a product and the other 50% love it. I decided on this product. I sprayed down the mouse droppings and cleaned them up, then sprinkled a line of this repellent across the front of the garage door. I figured this is how they were getting in. Just to test it, I set a piece of popcorn in one spot and a cracker in another on a counter in the garage. Treats are still there and there are no new droppings. I left out a few of the sticky board kind of traps in the garage and have only caught spiders and a few crickets. I sprinkled it around several areas outside where the dog was showing lots of interest, some areas in a garden shed where there were droppings, spots in the yard/garden where mice would like to live, and just kind of anywhere I had a structure and thought they might take cover. Have not seen any trace of mice since. There was something digging around in an self contained yard shed the other night that had the door left open a crack by mistake - I heard it for 2 nights. On the third day, I sprinkled some of this in the shed. Have heard nothing since. Door is now firmly shut! This product is like sand, and is basically odorless to me. Doesn't seem to bother the dog either. I try to remember to renew the granules every 2 weeks or so. I got this bottle in Nov 2011 and just now need to order another. I laugh at my neighbor next door who catches 2-3 mice a week in his garage. I told him I repel all of mine to his house! I would recommend giving this a product a try. You might be in the 50% that love it!

It only works for about a day.
I bought this stuff because we've been having an issue with shrews chewing through the floor and getting into the house. I sprinkled a perimeter of it around my house outside and inside of the holes that they made in the floor. And it worked great for the first day and then they were back. So I sprinkled some more and they were gone again for another day, but then they came back, so I tried it again and the same thing happened. The consistency of this stuff is like damp sand and it smells like a cat litter box. I think it must only be effective for as long as its damp since it wears off so quickly. Gonna have to try something else I guess.

This really works!
We've been fighting an outdoor rat problem for years. I even had vector control out and they put out poison boxes but it didn't help at all. They said as long as there is a food source, you'll have a problem no matter what. You could see the rats run along the fence and the trees in our backyard. Every single night you see them and hear them fighting in the bushes and trees. I saw this product and decided to give it a try. It worked the first night I used it. I sprinkled it all over the fence and tree limbs. Not one sound was heard that night or the next several nights. It rained so I sprinkled it again and no rats. I think this product is amazing and a little goes a long way. You don't need to sprinkle much so it will last a while. There is an odor but I can only smell it as I open the lid and sprinkle it. You don't smell it once it's out in the air but the rats smell it. It's great stuff and wish I would have found this months ago. Our backyard is finally rat free.
