It was a little tight at first.But after you push on it for a minute it works just fine

I bought a different brand one that’s silver and all the surfaces on them were damaged and marred. Requested replacement and same thing! I was hesitant to try this one due to the reviews, but figured it couldn’t be any worse than what I had just received from that other brand, and I’m honestly impressed. Pros: -Great build quality. -Very little if any damage, with non of it being on a working surface. -the pressing plates are taller (in combination) than the height of the mold. This increases flexibility of use and makes popping out the brick after way easier. Make sure to use parchment paper on the two faces. (The other I looked at stopped with room in the mold making it so you are stuck to a specific volume/ size brick.) -Good tolerances. I don’t know what other reviews are complaining about (maybe they fixed it?) but they are tight enough to not let stuff you’re trying to press by without being difficult to take apart. Obviously with low tolerances you have to be even about things, but that’s also the point of using one of these so again why the negative review? -To make it lighter they added two holes on the heaviest piece which make it convenient to pinch and pull it apart from. Negatives: -A little thick. There are definitely others that are thinner (requiring a smaller distance between jaws to squish the pre press). With that being said none of them would fit my rosin press so no matter what I’d need to find a proper vise/press.

It says 3"x5" but that is the outside dimension. You can't pre press 3x5 bags or make a 3x5 brick with this
