The "Matter" version is NOT ready for prime time.
I bought the "Matter" version to integrate with the Apple Home Kit, and it didn't work. The hub came preconfigured to the switches, and 1 worked, and 1 didn't. So I reset the hub to start it over, and the switches wouldn't connect. So new, there is little or no community support on their message board. So, I gave up and bought the Gen 2 to work with my Google Home.

Matter Hub Lasted One Month
Edit: customer service has sent a new replacement Hub. It has been stable for 2 days and connected to Alexa and HomeKit without issues. Will update review accordingly. The Matter hub will no longer turn on after one month. Tried another usb power cable in a different outlet and still not working. Pretty disappointing and failed just after the Amazon return window. When working it functioned 70% of the time at best.

DO NOT BUY! Impossible to connect to the hub/bridge
The instructions provided are unclear, and the app used to link the bridge on iOS is buggy. The bridge is being added as an accessory, not as a hub, so the process fails every single time.Returning it. What a waste of time.

Can’t get it to connect
I’ve been trying to set up the hub for days. I go through the instructions exactly, it will not connect. When I open the 3R Installer app, I hit the + button to add a new device, I plug in the device and scan the HomeKit code. It says connecting for a few minutes and then says “Unable to add accessory”. If I try to enter the HomeKit code manually it just instantly says unable to connect. This shouldn’t be hard.

Switches OK. Hub unusable.
I had high hopes with these and really worked hard with them but with no real luck. Simply put the hub would pair with one or two or sometimes three (I had bought an extra switch mechanism over what is in the kit) but never managed to stay connected for more than an hour and sometimes as little as a few minutes. This is not a good result for something being installed as a security precaution to turn on porch and deck lights and floodlights. I finally wound up sending the hub to the recycling center in the sky and using the Zigbee capability of my "Alexa" speakers. This worked perfectly and has continued to do so. If I had known I could have saved the money for the hub. Oh, BTW, the switch-activating modules work just fine with the only slight downside being a second of gear sounds when they are operating but that isn't really much of a drawback. Installation of those is simple and seems flexible.

This has to be one the worst smart switch I’ve ever owned.
100% does not work out of the box. It comes up as hub instead of a switch on HomeKit so that’s useless. Can’t pair it in their brand new “beta” app. Instantly returning after trying for over an hour with no results. It shouldn’t be that hard or difficult. Do not buy this item I guarantee of you will be returning it on the same day. Why bother releasing an item that doesn’t even work out of the box?

Does Not Work with Apple HomeKit
I added it to HomeKit and could see the hub but not the attached switch. Even the native app was inconsistent. Sometimes it would connect and sometimes it wouldn't. Tech support was no help, and I gave up. Cool idea but very poor implementation.

I wish other people also makes this
This is my only option right now. But you know as soon as a better company makes these switches I'm jumping.
