This light is really cool w/ a bonus feature that they didn't advertise and may not even know about. I'll explain below. First, I bought it for a specific reason - I wanted to put a light bulb inside an old metal lantern (2 lanterns actually so I bought 2 of these lights), and these were the only ones I could find that had a short enough base to fit the bulb. That said, I love these things. They look great, kind of an industrial, almost steampunk design. Now the bonus thing. They have a really interesting feature where you switch them on (and scroll dimmer settings) by simply touching anywhere on the base. The surprise... the lantern I put them in is made of metal. Touch the lantern anywhere and the light comes on. Like magic. NOTE: this feature (touching a metal thing the lamp is also touching) is not advertised as a feature of this product. For all I know, it may even be dangerous. But I don't think so. No shocks have happened and the light's on/off/dimmer functions work perfectly by touching that external lantern. Anyway... the seller isn't claiming it does this, but it does and I just thought it was a nice surprise. Bottom line - this lamp is exactly what it looks like - heavy base, looks stylish, and at least so far, works better than expected. Worth the price. NOTE: the awesome lantern pictured is NOT this product. I think I made that clear, but I don't want to confuse anyone. This product is the base with exposed light bulb (bulb sold separately). But whatever you plan to use it for, it's good.

These bases are great and the simple touch to turn on and off makes them even better! Just redid my teens room and added these along with decorative smoked bulbs for an ambient atmosphere and it looks absolutely fantastic. Good quality! Heavy base, you feel comfortable that it will stay put and not tip over while using a larger bulb keeping it safe for a teens room. These are a little more expensive, but not by much at all...especially when you have the opportunity to compare the difference of what is out there for just a little less money, but 150% less quality vs. these nice, heavy and safer alternative that may be a few bucks more. They are so worth it! Originally I had purchased a diffent base and upon receiving it, I just didnt feel like it was safe to use...especially in a teens room. The base was too light to weigh down a large bulb that may get hot at some point and potentially tip. The knob where you would turn it on and off just looked so cheap and unsafe. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

looks rustic and functions great. Exactly what I was looking for. My only issue is that i should've bought one that has a cover on it cause its actually kinda bright to look at the bulb. Also make sure you understand this doesn't come with any bulbs in it.

I absolutely love this simple, heavy and stylish little light. I added an amber Edison light bulb. The light turns on and dims with a gentle touch. Wonderful piece!

The product itself is really nice. I really enjoy it. Love the sturdiness. Love the touch function and the three brightness option. The thing I don’t like is that the lowest light option comes after the medium and brightest. Annoying. Now I don’t know if it’s defective because the package was undone inside the envelope. Looks like it was a returned item(?) didnt look like they bothered repackaging it. So I would like to know if it’s normal.

Heavy and quality constructed. My cat can't knock it off, which is a big plus! A flicker bulb works great in it. Looks like an antique and creates a really nice ambience.

Love the simple, industrial look of this desktop lamp and the ease of turning it on. You just tap once, twice, or three times to increase the brightness of the light. The style pairs well with my desk, which is made of stained solid wood with black steel hairpin legs. I've got a warm, LED Edison bulb in it and it works perfectly. Great value for the price.

Others that look like this are made of cheap plastic....NOT THIS ONE This one is HEAVY METAL!
