This Summer Will Be Different

so much love
The love and story in this book felt like cozy socks and the softest blankets even with the sprinkles of heartache. For a second I thought it was going to be similar to the book “Happy Place” but it’s not so don’t let your brain go there. I loved this story and I think you will too!

𝓣𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓢𝓾𝓶𝓶𝓮𝓻 𝔀𝓲𝓵𝓵 𝓫𝓮 𝓓𝓲𝓯𝓯𝓮𝓻𝓮𝓷𝓽 𝓫𝔂 𝓒𝓪𝓻𝓵𝓮𝔂 𝓕𝓸𝓻𝓽𝓾𝓷𝓮⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Finished my June Book Club read 🦞🌊🦪🐚This was a great palate cleanser for me, every so often I come across a sweet summer romance that I enjoy. The Authors writing places me right into PEI, and I felt the nostalgia of living in a small coastal town. Coming from someone who does she depicted it perfectly. Read this if you’re looking for:🐚Best Friends Brother🐚Found Family🐚Past & Present Timelines🐚Coastal Island Setting🐚Right Man Wrong Time🐚Secret Relationship🐚Head Strong FMCAlso I was down bad for Felix, we love a well read emotionally mature man.💅🏼“𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘦, 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦, 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦, 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴, 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦.”I love me a good romance with a sliver of spice, it’s like I’m being book edged. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Perfect Beach Read
Carley does it again, a perfect easy beach read. I love stories that go back and forth between time then meet up at the end.

Least favorite book by this author
I loved the author's 3 other books and I'm so glad I read those before this one. This one didn't even feel like it was written by the same person. It was a slog to get through and I thought about not finishing. There were parts I liked, but overall I was pretty bored and wasn't invested in any of the characters, in fact I was annoyed by them.

Beautiful read
This was such a beautiful read.Lucy was so relatable is how she was going about life in how she thought she should be living to finding out what living her life really was.I do have to say "Wolf" is not my favorite nickname. It gave me the Ick.This is definitely a book I would pick up again. If your into forbidden romance, best friend's brother, he falls first, she falls harder, and just an all around good "fluffy" read that will have you literally smiling and crying from all the feels. This is the book for you.

so good!
I always wonder how Carley is going to write a book about a Canadian island and a city girl but she always does it well and I devoured this book in like 4 days! Perfect amount of smut!

4ish out of 5
I want to give this higher because I love when romance novels are multi-faceted- this is not just a story about romance but about friendship and what independence actually means. The relationship between Lucy and her best friend Bridget is a central focus of the plot, however I feel like the friendship between the two is told and not shown. I would have liked more relationship building, because I did feel like Fortune was able to build a relationship between Felix and Lucy effectively.

Absolutely loved! My favorite so far by this author!
I loved this book! While reading it gave me all the feels, the heart dropping angst, the fluttering of butterflies in my stomach, the giddy feeling with a big, dopey smile going across my face. Everything I need and require to make a romance a 5 star read for me!I'm going to be honest here. I went in with a bit of trepidation when I picked this book up, because although I liked Every Summer After. Fortune's second book, Meet Me at The Lake, was just okay for me, so I didn't really know where this one was going to fall. I can easily say this one is my favorite by Fortune yet! It was perfect. Everything I wanted and then some!I fell in love with the characters. I loved the female protagonist, Lucy, her love for flowers, running her own flower shop, and her dream of one day having her own cut flower farm. If I hadn't been so stressed out the last two weeks with my lack of success of my very own Floret Farm flower seeds that I direct sowed in my garden, I'd probably love the fact of how much Erin and her Floret Flower Farm was mentioned in this book. But that is an entire different matter. 😅Then we get Felix. He was amazing. He was everything you'd want the male main character to be and more. I loved how this book started out. My jaw literally hit the floor, and then with the back and forth timeline of then and now really build this story up for me.And lastly, the setting. Oh my gosh. The setting. 😍 I had never even heard of Prince Edward Island (I had to look it up on the map), but Fortune's writing and the descriptions of this place makes me want to visit right away. It had me craving oysters and wanting that laid back, small town ocean vibe asap! This book would obviously be perfect by the water while you are enjoying your own vacation, but with the way Fortune writes about PEI, the food and drinks, etc, you could easily escape to this place straight on your couch at home. And really that's just what we all are looking for when we pick up a book, right?I am really shocked the two romance books that released this spring and that I haven't expected much out of are so far some of my favorite reads this year, and for me that is a lesson to never write off an author or think you they can't give you something that you will absolutely love!
