This is the second time I have purchased this magnetic key box. The first one broke at the hinge when my wife opened it after years of hiding. It worked so well that I purchased the same box as a replacement. This new box has a different style magnet and it appears to be stronger. The waterproof seal works great and my key looks like the day I bought it. I only put a single key for the doors in there. A key with a fob will not fit.

I keep a spare car key under my car. Very strong magnet. Will not fall off.

Needed this for my work vehicle due to the auto-locking doors locking me out on two occasions.The case is solid and sturdy and can easily hold more than the single key I needed to hide. The cover is water tight and the closing snap provides a good sense of security that the lid will not accidentally open on its own. The magnet on it is very strong and easily stays put in its location. I like that they provided a metal plate in case your choice of mounting location does not have ferrous metal for the magnet to stick to. Definitely worth the price for the peace of mind!

Nite Ize always delivers. This is very solid and the closure is secure, with a rubber seal. One down side to it: Internal space is small. One key with a flexible rubber tag is all that fits in it. But they've built a tank around that small space , which makes the container too large to be inconspicuous. I would have been better off with a less solid container that was easier to hide.

Very strong magnet and waterproof This was very much worth the money

I've already hidden my key in a place that's not easy to reach, so I don't feel like taking pictures for the review.If you have wrought iron around your house, or have a good hidden surface to affix the metal plate, this is a fantastic hide-a-key. I live in an old multi-story house with wrought iron stairs, fire escape, and fencing, so I have a plethora of options. The magnet on this box is really strong. It's not easy pulling it off of metal. If you choose to use the plate, make sure you clean the surface before adhesion. I imagine the Hideout may rip that plate off if you don't have a good seal.As others mentioned, the box is small. I had to remove a medium sized keyring because the lid wouldn't close. Not a big deal, this is for a spare key and I'd rather have a bombproof lid than be able to fit items inside the box that aren't keys.The size of the Hideout and the black color should blend really well with most areas you'll hide it. I know exactly where it is, it's not fully hidden from sight, and I cannot spot it without a strong flashlight. I really don't think you can find a better product to hide a key at this price point. It is superior to the obvious tricks like fake rocks and other decorative items.

Ever since locking my keys in my running car one time at a campground far from help (eventually, with a MacGyver-esque contraption consisting of two wooden dowels duct taped together, a coat-hanger, and a shovel to pry the top corner of the door open just a smidge so I could get it through to push the unlock button, I got in!!), I have had a spare key for my car hidden underneath in one of these devices. I wasn't sure how well the magnet would hold, so I also used zip ties fastened to another part under the car and through the hole on the side of this case to at least prevent it from disappearing if it got knocked loose. But now, two years later, it is still holding strong, and has not fallen off once!!! And that includes driving on pot-holed streets in Manhattan, *unbelievably* bad streets in an industrial area of Brooklyn, and dirt roads in upstate NY (saved my butt one time, too, when yes, I locked my backpack in my car forgetting that I had just put my keys in it :-P ). Notes: 1) I have not tried the self-adhesive steel plate, since I was able to find a flat piece of my car frame underneath where it sticks like a champ with no other work required, so I can't vouch for that part of the item. 2) Like any other magnet, it WILL NOT stick to aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, and some types of stainless steel (that's just physics, not the fault of this product). So maybe use some other magnet first to explore where you might be able to get it to stick before you buy it (or any other magnetic device like it). Heartily recommended!

I have a 2010 Corolla LEThe factory master key will not fit with the buttons but all the other non-remote keys with no door locks or trunk and panic buttons fit (one Key) and maybe a House Key in the opposite direction?Strong Magnets Hold great so All in All this was just what I needed! It is Possible to Lock your keys in the Trunk of a Corolla and this could be a very handy product should that happen when your not close to home!I bought the 2 Pack, One for the Corolla and One for my 1995 Astro Van that all the keys fit with room for other crap. Just removed one Star for Thickness because these days Keys are Fat with buttons and they will not fit but there is a Box one for GPS that can fit KEYS, Condoms, Money, Weed, Cigarettes, Lighters etc.One Other Thing to Think about is: You Can Get a Key Cut and Not Programmed to Start the Car, Just be able to unlock the doors and truck with no electronics! In the Front of the Corolla just behind the bumper there is a Slot with metal frame just big enough to fit your hand with a flat steel frame behind the plastics and You can not see this Hide a Key in there!
