Came fast, plug and play. With this model my cameras and devices seem faster and clearer
I like this TP link a lot my old model did not have enough places to connect everything. And I needed a POE (power Over Internet) switch. I was surprised at the size and weight and it has a built in fan. My high def cameras and hub are working flawlessly, and I am getting spill over improvements in other camera systems I was not expecting. I am happy

Nice little PoE switch in a sturdy metal case.
I chose this switch because I've always had good performance from Tp-Link products. It's a nice little PoE switch in a sturdy metal case.Note that there are currently 3 revisions of this model number. (The different versions have slightly different features, so they have slightly different front panel switches.) I received the third version; it can monitor packet flow and can cycle power to PoE devices if they stop sending packets for an extended period. The switch works great for me. The PoE ports work as expected. I didn't test the switch under heavy load, but it had no trouble handling digital video from 4 high-definition security cameras. I have no reason to suspect that it wouldn't meet its full specifications. And based on my experience with Tp-Link products, I expect that it will still be working fine 10 years from now.

Good price, good product so far
I am using this to operate 5 POE IP cameras and one network bridge. Although I've only been using it for a day so far, it's working fine. I had an SG1008PE for a couple of years and in the last few weeks it was not able to keep up with the load. Cameras were dropping off and coming back on periodically. Since I replaced that switch with this new one, I have not had any issues. I don't expect my switches to work forever as I have them installed in the attic and I live in a hot environment. My attic is routinely 120 degrees or more in the summertime.

Great tech support! Works as advertised. Haven't tested the POE, though.
Installed and works great, but embarrassing user error that their tech support helped we walk through. So, how difficult should an unmanaged switch be to operate? Well, when I first connected it, it didn't work?? My first thought is that it had a dedicated uplink port like the old switches like 20-30 years ago. Usually, switches say autolink, or autodetect, I saw no such indication on the switch or the literature that came with the switch, so I called tech support to confirm that thought. There was no hold time! And the tech walked me through trouble shooting the switch. Turns out it was not the switch at all. I had a bad ethernet cable. I have never had a cable go on me, so I never even thought to check. When I finally got around to checking the lights, I thought maybe my ethernet port was bad, eventually the tech thought to try the cable on something I knew was working. Duh? I must say I was never so embarrassed. Still, it was nice to see tech support that was capable and readily available.I intend to install security cameras that require POE. I assume it will all work, if there is a problem, I will update the review.

Needed POE. Does it's job
Needed POE and just a couple ports, to power a couple surveillance cameras. Works well and does so in scorching heat (placed in my attic in Phoenix Arizona)

I shopped around quite a bit and pulled the trigger on this one from TP Link and it's been very good so far – 2 day prime shippi
I've been looking to set up a camera system around my home for quite a while, and a big chunk of the system is a powered by a POE switch. I've used several different kinds of enterprise POE switches in a professional environment but when I'm trying to do so at home, I didn't have the budget to go with enterprise hardware. I shopped around quite a bit and pulled the trigger on this one from TP Link and it's been very good so far – 2 day prime shipping and I was set up and running in no time. This switch seems to be pretty high quality – I've used TP Link equipment in the past and haven't been disappointed. There's not a lot to say about a network switch – they're typically either work or they don't, and this one has been working just fine in my setup. I probably should have up – ordered my sizing so I had more power over ethernet ports. This is in no way a fault of the unit itself – I just forsee myself ordering a replacement sooner or later because having 4 ports is JUST enough for my use right now, leaving no room for expansion. This switch, as I ordered it anyway, is only a 100Mbps, so if you want Gigabit, keep shopping – 100Mbps is fine for my cameras so no concern here either. All in all, this is a nice little setup that I'll be happy to keep using. If you found my review helpful, please click below to let me know!
