PlayStation DualSense® Wireless Controller - Midnight Black

I've been gaming for over 40 years and have used every controller type imaginable. I say this with all honesty...the Sony DualSense is the greatest video game controller ever conceived. Its feel, performance, and style are virtually unmatched. It takes the traditional PlayStation control design and ramps it up in every quantifiable measure. The buttons feel terrific, the analog sticks feel well-tuned, and the ergonomics are a comfortable fit. The battery life is ideal for most sessions, too, as I have played in upwards of six straight hours without encountering a need for recharging. Beyond all of that, the controller just feels robust and solid, not cheap and flimsy like many others. Overall, the DualSense represents exactly the quantum leap forward in gaming technology that discriminating gamers should come to expect. Zero drawbacks at all. Highest recommendation!

If you are looking to use the DualSense controller on PC (Windows 10 user here), make sure you download the free Sony app called PlayStation Accessories and update the firmware. The updated firmware stopped my DualSense from disconnecting within a second or two of powering it on (it's a known issue) and thus being forced to use it via USB C cable connected to the computer.In some instances the controller will not shut down automatically after 5-10 minutes of inactivity. In this scenario, simply click the PS button for about 10 to 15 seconds and the controller will turn off automatically.If you are playing games on Steam, you can use the Steam mapper option to map DualSense buttons to an XBOX controller (the PC standard gamepad). If you are playing games on PC but not using Steam, you can use DS4Windows to play titles designed for / only supporting XBOX controllers as this program will do the mapping for you.Lastly, if you use an XBOX controller and are thinking about giving the Dual Sense a shot, I strongly encourage you to give it a try. The triggers are great for racing games, the feedback/ruble is strong and the size is great for adult hands. I have stopped using XBOX controllers on PC and could not be happier.

Comfortable to hold, responsive, and the adaptive triggers add a whole new feel to games. I’ve dropped mine more than a few times and it still works like new. Battery life is decent — I just keep a charging cable nearby. Worth it.
