Great for long distance moving
Okay - so picture this, January, I'm moving from West Virginia to Louisiana by myself. Moving guys driving the bulk of my stuff but car will still be totally full. Purchase this on recommendation from a friend. It is totally wonderful and worth the investment. MY ONLY WARNINGS come dependent on the season (and car model) and/or your height! The seasons: I was moving in January and loading my car in a parking lot that had a lot of ice that hadn't melted. My car (crosstrek) doesn't have door frames that make it super easy to step up on and load things. Unfortunately, because it was so icy, I couldn't put down a step stool. So, double check that your car is easy to step up or make sure you can use a stool! My height: I encountered an issue at the last minute where I couldn't get it zipped in the back of the car because it was just a bit too tall and awkward away from where I could reach. Again, if I could have used a stepstool, it would have been fine. It's definitely ideal to be able to strap it down to roof racks and I didn't feel that things slid around much. It stayed dry and felt safe. Great buy.

JUST BUY IT
I have three german shepherds and a toddler so even with an SUV I need some extra space when traveling with them all. For this trip I put three 42 inch dog crates on top and it didn’t budge. I didn’t even use half the space inside. It was very easy to install especially since I have the roof racks. I’m only 5’0 and didn’t have any trouble. It rained during my travels and my things did not get wet. Folds up super easy and storing in my car when I’m not using it. Made no noise and I forgot it was there during the trip. Going on a beach trip in a couple months and going to put all my dog supplies and maybe even a pack and play and a stroller in there. Very spacious! I wish I had this a long time ago.

No issues on highway for 14 hours including thunder storms
I travelled 15 hours from Alabama to Maryland in a Subaru Impreza with cross bars with this item loaded and buckled easily on my roof. I put half of my library (books) in one inner container and the other half in the other, and slide the inner containers into the larger container. I was uncertain at first but this actually withstood the 70+mph drive and a couple heavy thunder storms, which reflects a good quality. It did not add too much extra height and fit perfectly on the top. I now have it stowed in my closet when not in use. Would definitely recommend and I am so glad I have this now for future use.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THE ULTIMATE ROAD TRIP MVP – BUY THIS THING IMMEDIATELY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THE ULTIMATE ROAD TRIP MVP – BUY THIS THING IMMEDIATELY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Let me tell you about this absolute beast of a rooftop cargo carrier. We just crushed a 5-hour road trip down to Florida, Kia Telluride packed to the gills… or so we thought. This bad boy strapped to our roof took everything we couldn’t fit inside and laughed at us like, “That all you got?” I’m talking 3 medium suitcases, 2 large suitcases, 2 boogie boards, and 3 beach chairs. Yep, all of it. Like Mary Poppins’ bag, but for over-packers.Here’s the kicker—we don’t even have a roof rack. Zero problem. We used the included metal door hooks, cinched those straps tight, and it held like a champ. No movement. No slippage. No flapping. No drama. Then the rain came. Florida rain. The kind that soaks you to your soul in 30 seconds. But this thing? 100% waterproof. Bone dry inside. Thick material that feels like it could survive a hurricane. I honestly expected to crawl on the highway and still have it balloon up like a parachute—NOPE. We cruised at 80 MPH like it wasn’t even there. No wind noise, no buffeting, nothing. Just smooth sailing.Size-wise? It’s a monster. Easily twice the capacity of those overpriced hardshells, and at less than half the price. When we got home, I folded it up and tossed it into its compact soft carrying case—try doing that with a hard case that eats up half your garage.Bottom line: This is now my permanent road trip sidekick. Whether you’re headed to the beach, the mountains, or your in-laws (sorry), this cargo carrier is the real deal. I’d recommend it to anyone, anywhere, anytime.BUY IT. PACK IT. FLOOR IT. REPEAT.
