As expected. Razor sharp
[ Packaging ]Minimum amount of packaging. (1) box, (1) manual, (1) slicer, (1) hand-guard, (2) extra blades, for different cuts[ The Good ]Very simple design. The size of it makes it easy to manage and store. Not too big or small, just right. The combo blades make it easy to have different thicknesses and styles, depending on what I am slicing. I haven’t really used it heavily yet, but I can attest to the sharpness.I like that it is made in Japan: you can tell that the blade is extremely sharp and will get the job done. I like to make homemade pickles, and this mandolin has made it exceptionally easier to slice cucumbers, onions, carrots, radishes, etc.[ What Could Be Better ]I have no complaints.[ Takeaway ]I am very pleased with this mandolin. It is a must-have in your kitchen. I would like to also emphasize that users must use the included hand-guard for safety, and overall have respect for this tool. Just like other mandolins, it demands attention, because of how sharp it is.

Very sharp!
I really like how sharp each piece was, this will definitely get you the thinnest pieces, I used the largest comb (4mm) and you can see the width is super small. You need to be careful with this, follow instructions because if this is position and set incorrectly, you’ll definitely get hurt, the blade is one of the sharpest I’ve ever seen in my life. I accidentally pricked my fingers when I was going too fast. Cleaning was fast and simple, it was very easy to take apart, and rinse. there’s also a bag that it comes with to hold the combs. What I really disliked was the holder. It was completely useless, it did not hold and also very weak, one of the biggest disappointments because you want to use every part of the vegetable, but without the holder being useful, it becomes dangerous (as j mentioned before, super super sharp blades).

3 months of use and it is really handy
I am happy with this one for the price point. I too cut my finger, because it is sharp and because I am new to using one. I use mainly the julienne and slicing features. It is wonderful for making fermented foods, adding items to salads and living soups. I like that it is fairly flat with few pieces, it makes it easier and better to store it and use it. I am using it nearly daily. You have to be careful cleaning as well. Some instructions for keeping the blades sharp, would be helpful - the right stone, rod, etc the type that is best for a Japanese blade. I don't feel it is very pretty, but it will suit both men and women since it is black.I would recommend this for anyone prepping healthy foods, you will find it highly useful.

Good Mandoline Slicer, Very Sharp
This is a great slim profile mandoline slicer. Very minimalistic, and doesn't take up a lot of space in your pantry. Comes with some nice blade attachments for different slicing patterns and styles based on what you're looking to accomplish. The blades themselves can be a little tricky at first to understand how to install and remove, but it's not bad once you figure it out. The height adjustment is also very fine-tuned. You aren't going to get super thick slicing options, but for general kitchen use, it should cover a majority of what you're looking for. The main selling point of this is that it is very easy to store, very easy to clean, comes with several attachments for variety, a hand guard/food holder, and the blade itself is very sharp. Does the job easily. Would recommend if you're looking for a good quality no frills slicer!

a bit flimsy but also very low profile for easy storage
This is a very nice, low profile slicer and shouldn't take up much space which is what I wanted.I was pleased to see the little storage baggie for the extra blades but wish someone would make one where the blades store inside the unit. I also wish someone would make one that completely protects your fingers from the blade when it's being stored or handled. It was a bit confusing to figure out how to get the blades to stay in place if you removed it but once I figure that out, it made sense. The bit that controls the thickness is a little wonky, I think that could be designed better. All in all, I hope it will replace my other one that was kinda scary to use.

Seems a little too cheap
The slicer does have a sharp blade and a bunch of other julienne attachments. The thickness adjustment is not as good as it could be. It doesn't come with any sort of finger guard, but the instructions say don't cut yourself!

Nice Slicer
When I brought this in from the mailbox, my husband was very excited to see what I got. He’s a chef, I am too, but he is very picky about his tools and equipment. He thought this was very nice! I was impressed too! I had 3 different types of blades that attach for different types of cuts. It’s very sharp so be careful with your fingers and the included finger hairs is a great idea to prevent slicing things that aren’t your food. It is easy to hold and makes quick work of kitchen prep. It’s easy to adjust the thickness and to clean. I really like this slicer!

Update: broke second day. Scalloped potatoes just got way easier
The media could not be loaded. Update: whomp whomp. I really liked having a mandolin, but the next day after writing my review I adjusted the movable plate so I could make some thick tomato slices and it broke on tomato #2. The blade is still sharp, but the tightening screw to keep the movable plate in place is already shredding through the flimsy plastic (see last pic). With that plate moving back and forth with each pass you can't slice anything (plus it gets pretty dangerous for your fingers). By day 2 its unusable, so I'd pass on this one.The blade on this is SHARP. Definitely use the hand guard once you start getting within a few inches to the end of your veggie. I was cutting through potatoes and onions like they were butter, and no way I could have made my slices as thin and uniform with a knife as this mandolin did. I just made the best scalloped potatoes I've ever made and in legit a third of the prep time. I'm looking forward to frying my own chips next. This mandolin does more than just thin slices though. Its easy to adjust the thickness your cutting by turning the screw on the right. There's also 3 other blades you can swap out to julienne instead of slice, so you can make like shoestring or steak fries.
