You won't want to put it down
Love this book and show so much. I've read through multiple times and still haven't discovered everything. For fans of Star Trek or Choose Your Own Adventure books

Brilliant use of the "Choose your Action" format
I have never seen Lower Decks, but have familiarity with TOS and TNG Star Trek, and I loved this. North creates a mystery that to solve you need to travel multiple paths. It results in a satisfying story with a resolution that the reader actually contributes to. Loads of fun.

Ryan North fans will not be disappointed
Devoured this book, loved every bit! As a fan of Dinosaur Comics, I will say that there is a reason Ryan North can get away with a nearly art-less comic for 20+ years. When teamed up with an artist who can nail the style of the show, North is unstoppable. He is a master of sneaking in little word jokes into already funny situations, such as asking a holodeck to summon "5 Lieutenants Tendi". I was also delighted by Mariner's reactions that more or less mirrored my own, especially when the world of the book started to unravel bit-by-bit. As the description says, the choose-your-own-adven-*ahem*-PATH nature of the book is actually a plot point to a delightfully meta degree. The only complaint I had was that I was not smart enough to clue into the main 'puzzle' of how to get to the next big part of the book. Looking back at the relevant 'ending', though, its eminently obvious in hindsight, and my confusion was just a result of not thinking outside the box enough. The second big 'puzzle' was, for better or worse, notably easier, since it requires the exact same logical leap as the first, but spelled out to you a bit more. These complaints are completely washed away by the ending of the book, though, which is, in a word, phenomenal. It is exactly in the spirit of both Trek as a whole and Lower Decks specifically. With the show seemingly ending this year, it seems doubtful that another tie-in could be made... but even if a sequel is improbable, I hope the authors can continue to do work in the Trek universe. A tie-in this good rarely comes around!

lower decks! lower decks!
Perhaps the most creative comic and choose your own adventure story I have ever read. Such an inventive use of trek lore to do it too.

Hugo nominated graphic novel
This is done up in the make your own adventure format where you select and action and then are directed to a page. This was a little confusing but to not make a spoiler, actually has to do with the plot of the book. The drawings ae right out of the series.

A Good Book Based on a Good Series
One of the best things I've read in a while, comic or no. A clever idea and top-notch execution with the original ideas, personal drama, and curiosity you'd want from a Star Trek title. Great stuff.
