PEBEO Retouching Varnish Spray-400ml, 400 ml (Pack of 1)

This make is very good value compared to many other manufacturers. It has a very fine spray that covers really well. I always spray twice at the same time, the second pass at 90 degrees and this gives an excellent finish. It gives a high sheen, not gloss or satin, and this gives an added depth to the finished look. Most recommended.

I want to say a big thank you to the member of the Amazon Community who advised me that it’s fine to use this retouch spray (meant for oil paintings) on acrylic paintings. It has given my acrylics a new lease of life. I love the way the light bounces off the surface and shimmers and shines, adding depth to the painting and a richness to the colours. This shopper also gave me clear instructions on precisely HOW to apply it, and I’ve followed them to the letter. I apologise for not knowing who you are exactly but if your read this, you’ll know who you are and I can’t thank you enough as I was literally clueless. The product is great by the way. It dries quickly plus all the above!

Normally I would use Winsor Newton however, when I went looking for a can recently, I was shocked at the price increase, basically double what I was paying last year. So I began searching for a cheaper alternative and that is when I came across the Pebeo retouching varnish. Well I wasn't expecting a bad product but equally so, i was not expecting anything remarcable either, especially at the price, however, I was in for a surprise. To begin with, I instantly noticed just how nice this product sprays. The nozzle has a nice wide fan with great atomization. In-fact I'd go as far as to say it probably one of the best I've ever used. Therefore coverage is great and very uniform. Drying times are quick leaving a very nice finish. Overall I am very happy with this product and will certainly buy it again over other more expensive brands.
