When using a mechcanical pencil for cursive writing
I avoid writing with mechcanical pencils since they either are incapable of producing a dark line or if using a soft lead frequently become dull. I find the best compromise for writing with a mechanical pencil is to use as thin a lead as pssible. Even a dull 0.3mm produces fairly uniform lines. Combine that with the autorotation feature and you have a mechanical pencil that can produce highly uniform cursive script.

Functional but experienced excess lead breakage
I’ve used the .5mm version of this pencil for over a year and enjoy it. The .3mm does not work as well. I have had issues with lead breakage. I think the rotation mechanism and the tip movement are too imprecise. I have no issues with standard mechanical pencils or the Orenz Nero in .3.

Kuru Toaga Andvance Lead
Very disappointed in this mechanical pencil. The lead breaks every time I write something. I will be returning it.

Lead breaks super easily
I'm a Kuru Toga mega fan, been using them 15 years ago before the U.S. even sold them (bought them in Japan), so when I learned they released a premium metal one, I bought it.Unfortunately, my experience was very poor. Since it's metal, the body doesn't flex, so it puts a lot of strain onto the lead, which at 0.3, breaks very easy. I even used high quality lead, and it still breaks. Which is a major shame because it feels great in the hands, but the mechanism is too rigid.I can't recommend this.
