Fixed up an old thrift store TV remote
I used this to fix up a remote for an old TV I got from a thrift store (random brand, non-BOSE). The pattern on my remote was different so I cut out each circle and stuck them to the PCB individually. There wasn’t quite enough pads to fix every single button on the remote but not all of them were broken in the first place, just the ones that were heavily used. The remote is now back to good working order and I can control the volume and VHS playback controls from my couch.Note that these pads were a bit bigger than the stock pads on my random TV remote so you might run into clearance issues if you’re trying to fix a whole bunch of tiny buttons that are close to each other.

They work!
I have a AC thermostat that's as old as time itself, the only problem with it is that the temperature up and down buttons just didn't want to work every time. I installed one of these "dots" onto the circuit board where the buttons contacted and it's as good as new now! These dots do not stick to the carbon rubber buttons, instead they stick to the circuit board, they are "suspended" on an adhesive carrier film that when you push the button the dots are then also pushed down to contact the circuit. You use some sharp scissors to cut a small square around the new dot, then peel away the backing and stick to where you need it..... 100% effective!

Not Exactly the Fix I Needed
Easy to use and install, but didn’t return my remote to full original functionality. It works a little better than before, but only a little.

It did work great when first installed
It was easy to install and worked for a while. We have to press the buttons multiple times to get it to work.

Easy and works great!
My remote has been a problem for quite some time and was even thinking it was time to replace my Bose Lifestyle 12, but it still sounds great. Found this button repair kit and it was easy to install and it works great and has saved me hundreds of dollars!!

It might not solve your problem
I wish I had the same experience as everyone else - a Bose remote that's magically restored to like-new operation. But I didn't.My remote seems to only work within a 3-4 ft radius of the stereo unit. (We use it for home-theater with our TV.Who the heck wants to get up from the couch to adjust the sound, right?) Bought this repair kit, followed the instructional video to a 't'. No improvement. Changed the batteries again, just in case. Nada.Luckily it wasn't expensive, so I feel the gamble was worth the expense. There wasn't much dirt, oil, residue, etc inside my remote, although cleaning it made me feel like I accomplished something. And I didn't break any of the plastic latches, so the hippocratic oath was upheld (do no harm).I ended up with a little egg on my face because I told everyone in the house that the remote would be back to normal by Saturday, and "Surprise" - it's not. Oh well.I'm not recommending that people don't buy this. If the previous reviews are all legit, then it probably works in other cases. But I just can't testify that it does. I genuinely hope people get their remotes working good again!

Works for repair of all remotes, especially older GM car remotes
I had a couple of GM remotes that only worked when you mashed the buttons as hard as possible. This repair kit worked perfectly to fix them. To make the repair, simply clean the remote circuit board with alcohol or lighter fluid. Using the repair kit, cut a contact dot out leaving some area around the dot slightly larger than the dot itself. A small square cut works just fine. Peel the adhesive off the dot and place over the circuit board contacts and press down to adhere. I installed dots over all circuit board contacts on the remotes. All of the remotes now work as good or better than when new. Super happy with the results.
