I'm using it on my 60 lb. black lab. Depending on where I measure her neck, she's a bit smaller than your dog. The collar will fit mostly across the chest and lower neck. I got the large and it is a comfortable fit. I wouldn't want it any smaller. The reason I got mine is not so much for leashing but for helping her in and out of the car. She's 12 and needs to use steps to get in the car. She's afraid sometimes and instead of strangling her with a collar, I use a harness and guide her using the handle.
