Works well
(always consult an MD not medical advice) My husband had a really badly ingrown toenail that left a nasty infected wound and I was able to treat the wound effectively with these swabs. I was able to completely clear his infection and it healed well. The swabs were easy to use, cost effective, and prevented the messy clean up that comes with other preparations like bottled iodine.

A nurse (retired) knows
I had a left total knee replacement surgery and then another surgery to replace the non-metal parts, all through the same incision area. Additionally, I had 2 PICC lines, the second after I developed an allergy to the Hibiclens cleanser. I needed something to use to swab my incision and extra to swab my PICC line for dressing changes since the change kit had Hibiclens swabs. These fit the bill perfectly. They are individually wrapped, not particularly messy and drippy, and worked well for what I needed.

I should have started using these long ago.
I get diabetic ulcers that are notoriously difficult to get to stay disinfected so they can close up, and frankly, I got tired of using iodine and cotton and it leaving remnants of cotton in the wound that I'd have to go back and clean up.I had neck surgery a few years back and I got introduced to the concept of these preloaded swabs, and so far, it's great.Only thing I didn't anticipate, for whatever reason, is that the shaft of the swab has iodine all over it too, and, there is also liquid iodine in the packet...so best if done with gloves unless one wants to wash off the iodine from their hands. Also, one can tear it at about the half to 3/4 mark, and use the tear off as a sort of handle ;)That said, the swab comes presoaked, and leaves a good amount, but doesn't do so much that it drips or runs everywhere; there is a good amount to work with.I sense I'll be buying more of these along with more gloves.
