You won't find a better t.v. for the price.
Let's be honest, there are videophiles that are going to crap on anything that isn't the latest and greatest technology.............at the highest price. This TV isn't about them or for them. OLED, QLED, ULED and on, and on, and on. It can all be very confusing as a consumer. In the end, most of us are just looking for a great looking TV at a price that we can purchase with as little "ouch" factor as possible. My wife and I have a horrible habit (or wonderful depending on your perspective) of upgrading not only our TV but the size of the TV also. Coming from a 75" there was only one way to go. You guessed it, an 85" TV. Now, there are a lot more options in that space than there were the last time we bought a TV (about 8 years ago). This time of year can be particularly confusing with all of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals because of all the super low end TVs being pushed out the doors of our local superstores, electronic stores and, yes, Amazon. We become mesmerized by the "amazing deal" we just found for a goliath television that is at the lower end of picture and build quality and don't realize it (or care). And power to the people who find those deals and are happy with them. I'm not here to rain on anyone's parade in an way. But there is a section of people who are willing to spend a little extra without dipping into the ultra elite prices of TVs. This is where the Hisense U6 Series sits.I'll be honest, this journey started with the purchase of a different TV. My wife became enamored with the display at our local superstore and had her sights set. I made the mistake of not doing a ton of research and made the impulse buy of all impulse buys. We got the TV home and it had a ghost like grey cloud in the upper 3rd of the t.v. (blessing in disguise). So, naturally, we boxed the TV back up and returned it to the store.O.K. time to actually research some of these t.v.s in the same price range. After a pretty deep dive and seeking out tons of reviews (written and on YouTube) it came down to two choices for us. The Hisense U6 or the TCL Q65 series. From everything that I gathered, the TCL was better suited to the "gamer" and the Hisense better all around for everything else. Gaming wasn't the highest of priorities for us (I still play around with our PS4 but the days of anticipation of a new game and geeking out for days on end with a controller in hand are long past). So, the Hisense made the best sense (no pun intended for us).Our local superstore could order the Hisense for us (none of this model at this size are sold in store) but the reviews of the couriers that they used got HORRIBLE reviews and if you bought online, you couldn't return it to the store. No thanks. So, off to Amazon I go.First of all, I want to say that I did get a little nervous when my wife did a deep dive on the shipping companies that Amazon uses for large TV shipments (CEVA in most cases). The reviews were.....not great. All I can say is that OUR experience with CEVA was top notch. When we ordered our TV on a Sunday with a delivery date of 10 days later. Much to my surprise, I got a text from the courier that they were on their way to my house and would be there in 45 minutes........three days after ordering. Our delivery driver was absolutely top notch. I wasn't home when it was delivered but my wife was and he was very helpful in documenting any damage to the shipping box. He even stick around so that my wife could plug the TV in and inspect for any picture imperfections. Couldn't have been happier with the experience. Now to the TV. It can simply be boiled down to the fact that you will absolutely not find a better picture quality for this price at this size. The one knock on the Hisense U6 model is that it was on the lower end of picture quality out of the box without calibration and , subsequently, the best picture AFTER calibration. If you know anything about professional TV calibration, you know that it is.........not cheap. Fortunately, there are some good settings posted online and on YouTube to get you most of the way there. There are also Calibration Blu Ray discs that will get you pretty darned close to pro level calibration. After geeking out on different settings by different reviewers/users of the TV, I have our set dialed in (for me) and I could not possibly be happier with our TV and the purchase overall. The picture is simply stunning. It's really that simple for us. The settings menu can be a little confusing at first but once you've gone in and out of it a few times, its becomes easier to navigate. We don't use the TVs interface for streaming apps because (quite frankly) we're too lazy to re-enter usernames and passwords for all of the apps that we already have ready to go on the PS4 and Firestick. So I can't speak to any of that.I just love this picture.......so, so much. Couldn't be happier with our purchase.

Unbeatable Deal!
Wow, this is a great TV for the size and the current price ($650 during Black Friday) is unmatched comparatively. Years ago I spent $2K for a Sony Bravia 65", which was a bit underwhelming at the time considering the price and lag of the menu screens. It did the job but I felt like marketing and a big name brand is all I was sold on. This 75" Hisense feels like a real upgrade so far, granted I've only had it for a couple of days now (I will update if things change), I'm impressed with the quality.(Skip to very bottom for overall Pros/Cons)Visuals:The first thing I did was turn off the motion plus stuff, this is what gives video that "soap opera" effect, which in my opinion cheapens the look of movies. Thankfully there are different settings for it as well as turning it completely off, nice. After making some adjustments to the other standard video settings along with Dolby Vision, the visuals are beautiful.Audio:The sound is great for being in TV, while I will eventually hook up an external system to meet my personal preferences, the built-in Dolby Atmos is more than sufficient for the time being and fills the room while even at low volume.Technical:There are 3 HDMI inputs at 4K 60fps, I am using all of them and have no issues with the TV auto-selecting between them as I switch between devices - an Apple TV, a PS5, and my computer. The Google OS that comes with the TV immediately tries to set you up for a Google Home network, which is nice if you want/need that, but for the time being I'm using my Apple TV instead since I'm already signed in for all of my streaming platforms. Similar to the Sony Bravia, the UI navigation is a bit sluggish... I am convinced this has less to do with the TV and more to do with the OS itself. Hooking up an Apple TV bypasses that lag. I don't think it's worth taking a star off for the OS/UI, since this is common with smart TVs (unfortunately).Amazon Delivery:Wow these guys were great. They called upon arrival and carefully delivered it through my house and into the basement, then went to work unpacking it up on my table in less than 10 minutes. Mind you this was a 75"+ sized box, which is not a light ask, something I could not have done by myself at all. Just FYI, they DO take the box back after unpacking it for you, so that's nice if you planned on trashing it anyway, but would have been nice to keep it in storage in case anything happens to it. They were very polite and insistent on taking it back, so I didn't try too hard to keep it anyway.Pros:Great value especially for the size of it.Picture quality wonderful after some adjustments (just turn off Motion Plus)!Switch between inputs easily and automatically.Dolby Atmos built-in is a definite plus!Cons:Somewhat laggy user interface, as usual with most smart TV operating systems.Fear of "soap opera effect" being a permanent feature (it's not)! Can't keep the box? Will update if anything else comes up, good or bad!

Good Value for the Money
Overall, especially considering the price, I think this TV is quite good. I really didn't want to spend thousands of dollars for a TV that will be obsolete in a few years (like I did the last time I bought at TV). I don't find blooming to be an issue. The colors are quite vivid. The app selection is fine (though I find Tubi to be a bit buggy sometimes, e.g., as it just quits on its own occasionally). I don't use motion smoothing, and I find that horizontal panning can be a bit choppy. And I find there is a bit of dirty screen effect on this TV, but it's not too bad (mostly unnoticeable for me). I spent less than $1,000 and got a pretty good deal given that higher-end TVs of similar size can cost far, far more.

Great quality
It's one of the best TVs for its price-performance ratio. The picture quality is excellent, even better than many other more renowned brands. Connectivity is good. On the downside, the software occasionally lags, but it recovers within a second or two. I hope this improves in future software updates.

Great for $700!
Amazing TV for the price. Bought it on sale. And for spending only $700 it is the best TV for this price range. If you can find it on sale I would highly recommend buying it. Also, it's definitely not an OLED, but for the price it's amazing and for not being an outlet to picture quality is second to none.
