Great for measuring curved seams
I am working on sewing up a bra, and there are a lot of curved seams that have to be equal lengths in bra pieces. Since every body is different, there are a lot of adjustments to make, and keeping the lengths of matching seams the same is really important. So I use this rolling ruler a lot and it works really well. I do wish it was a little bit 'grippy' on the thin edge, but obviously if you tried to add anything it would change the measurements, so I'm OK with it as-is. When the ruler slips it does get a bit frustrating, so I can understand how some folks might not get along with this tool. I also wish sometimes for a left-handed version, so I can roll from the other direction without the backwards-numbers and mental math, but I also value the transparent wheel so I can see how well I'm following the line. All in all I like this tool a lot and I am using it frequently for measurements up to about 16 inches so far.

Extremely useful tool for drafting/altering patterns
I have not used this tool yet, but I am impressed already with the quality of its construction. It's sturdy, made of high quality plastic, and the wheel turns easily. The wheel has easy to read markings and the directions that come with it are easy to understand. I am eager to put it to use, as I can see how much easier it will be to alter the size of armscyes and sleeves...what a blessing!

If you sew you need this!
I'm so sorry I waited so long to buy this! I've had it 2 weeks and used it many times already. The seller is OUTSTANDING! An equally useful gift was included which delighted me! I struggled to get the black plastic handle grip in place. The fit is very tight as it needs to be. I went to the kitchen and sprinkled 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda into the gripper opening and it slipped right on. I love this ruler!
