Huge improvement.
This Router replaced the under powered motor that came on my Cncest 6050. It helps reduce static noise that was affecting machine performance and has a lot more power. It is definitely a lot noisier then the spindle that came with the machine.

Works great! Replaced my Kobalt router!
Quiet and efficient. Works better than my Kobalt router that ran on machine for a year with no issues. Don’t shy away from this, Genmitsu got it right

Works better than older version.
I purchased this router for my Genmitsu CNC machine. My older Genmitsu router did not survive a year of operation. The "bearings" failed with a specular spilling of plastic parts. So far, I am happy with this unit. It is a true 65mm and the Genmitsu dust collection fixture actually fits now unlike the older version. I also like the variable speed feature. Only time will tell if it last longer than the previous version? Note that it only comes with a small collet. To you a 1/4 router bit, you need to purchase an additional collet.

Good value
Its about as quiet and smooth as you could expect from something spinning at 30krpm. I really like that the shaft at the bottom is so short, allows you to run with minimum stick-out and better stiffness. Even though there are 6 numbers on the dial, there seems to be in-between speeds as well, so there are probably about 10 unique speeds to set it to. Measured 29,100 rpm at highest setting. Might get closer to 30k after the brushes have had a chance to wear in. Came with an 1/8" collet and nut, and with the included two sets of replacement brushes it should outlast the rest of the machine.

Beware!! Poorly designed waste of money!
Garbage. They send garbage pot metal wrenches that bent on the first use. I didn’t even know companies sent such crap anymore. Also because of the design it is almost impossible to use annything else. The collets get stuck and it becomes a huge chore each time you have to change a bit. I have heard good things about genmitsu cncs and so I figured the router would be decent. Boy was I wrong. I had to go buy another Makita to finish work I had backing up. Underpowered, poorly designed piece of garbage. Stay away!!

Nice Upgrade from a 70W or 300W Default Spindle
This is a nice little router for the price to upgrade from your 70W or 300W default CNC spindle. If you still want to say with the ER11 collet, this is a fine choice. SS Relay use and issues: (UNPLUG power source BEFORE installing this, recommended ONLY for those familiar with electronics) It has a soft/slow start circuit on its initial operation, so you WILL encounter issues if you are using a SolidState Relay to trigger your router power; it will not start on its own. (There are switch step processes to work around this, but it defeats the purpose of a relay in the first place). To fix the relay issue with this router, install a high voltage (ie 600V) 104k (0.1 microfarad) capacitor from the AC load side terminal (the black wire going TO the router) on the relay to the neutral/common/white line returning back to the plug/power source. This will drop the voltage that the router 'feels' that was confusing the circuit. It wont pass any real current, but be sure to cover/tape/wrap the exposed leads and I recommend soldering the capacitor lead to the neutral so it wont come loose. ALWAYS cover exposed leads and terminals. Its a wonderful CNC router upgrade for the price, however I DID go back to my Makita RT0701CR router for my XL6050Pro CNC. I LOVE ER collet designs, but the Makita edged the 710w Genmitsu out in 3 or 4 other areas, so I just went back to the Makita and its proprietary collet. If you are using a 75 or 300 watt default spindle and are looking for the best, least expensive option for an upgrade, this 710w Genmitsu router is a FINE choice.

Speed Dial Is Prone to Drift -- Not Ideal for CNC Work
I'm new to the world of CNCs so everything I purchased was based on recommendations and/or reviews. The Genmitsu 710W was listed as a good choice for use with my Onefinity Woodworker Pro, and didn't include all the widgets that come with a standard fare palm router. A plus in my eyes. The router works well enough -- it's powerful, adjustable, quiet, stable, etc. The ER11 collet is fantastic. The issue I have is the speed dial is prone to drift, especially when the router is working hard. When I'm running a 3/4" bowl bit using the recommended feeds and speeds (even dialed back a little) the speed wheel will jump up fairly quickly meaning I have to stand watch over the whole carve and watch the speed wheel. A few times I have neglected to do that, and wound up with terrible burn marks on the project. For other routers, like the Makita, you can buy a 3rd-party clip that locks the speed wheel in place. I can find no such option for the Genmitsu. All that being said, I'll keep using the router as-is for the time being, but as soon as the opportunity presents itself I'll be upgrading to a router/spindle that has a more stable speed adjustment mechanism.

Quiet and Powerful
Bought this to replace my weak motor on my cnc. It's quiet compared to the compact router I was going to use. Very powerful and fit perfectly with my 4040 pro with the new bracket. Comes with an extra set of brushes but was missing the 10mm wrench for the collett. Very happy with it so far.

This 710W router seriously impressed me. I had my doubts as the price was cheap and the size looked intimidating. It’s currently mounted in a PLA 3D-printed bracket on my CNC, and even after hours of continuous use, it stays cool and performs flawlessly. Cuts through aluminum and wood cleanly with zero hiccups. The short-neck collet design gives tight, accurate bit control with no noticeable backlash, making it great for precision jobs. Really a far more quality unit than the price would leave one to believe. Highly recommended to ANY machine out there even a 3018 would love this unit.!! Pros: Very affordable for the performance Stays cool, even in PLA mount Lightweight enough for NEMA 17 setups Powerful and handles demanding jobs Short collet neck = low runout and clean cuts Cons: Short neck can make mid-job bit swaps a little tricky Louder than a 500W brushed spindle, but still way quieter than a DW660 Bottom line....this thing punches way above its weight. For hobby CNC, this is one of the best upgrades I’ve made.
