Absolutely beautiful, pigmented with juicy free flowing colours when activated with water 💦
I have the supracolor and the prismalo and they are really good quality but when I purchased these museum aquarelle watercolour pencils I was amazed at the quality and the difference from the supracolor & prismalo . You add water and it’s just like watercolour, the pigments flow and well they are most definitely the watercolour version of luminance , top of the range and beautiful colour pallet as well . I purchased this set of 20 marine at an amazing price and I almost cancelled my order, luckily for me it was too late to cancel because they were almost ready for dispatch. I’m glad I have them and they add beautifully to my Art supply’s , I tend to use mix media with my Art and one of my most used brands that I use a lot is caran dache . Yes can highly recommend these watercolour pencils for quality, pigments , beautiful colours and vibrancy .

Excellent product.
Museum watercolour pencils, have some fabor castell ones and some supra colour of caran de ashe. The museum ones take it to a whole new level. Ordered the marine set, but have now ordered the landscape ones. Derwent intense are good, but these sharpen easier. Pleased with the product. Expensive but worth it. The white makes a good blender when used dry. Should have bitten the bullet and bought the 72 set, with hindsight, and lived off bread and water.

Pencils top quality, Amazon packaging the worst
These are the best watercolour pencils available, and the colour selection in this set is great. However I am gobsmacked by the way Amazon has delivered them. There was no protective packaging at all, not even a simple brown envelope - an unwrapped box of crayons was just thrown through my letter box to smash onto the floor. As any artist knows, the leads in pencils like these are highly breakable, and they should have been protected by layers of bubble wrap or at the least a padded envelope. The leads will very likely have been broken in multiple places by this treatment. Of course I won’t find out until later on, as I sharpen the pencils and move further up the leads and by then I won’t be able to get a refund. The beautiful box (which is not an outer box to go in the bin once opened, but the actual container the pencils live in) was broken at the corners too which is so terribly disappointing. Honestly, Amazon packaging decisions baffle me - tiny plastic items that only cost pennies arrive in enormous unnecessary boxes, and then a highly expensive, highly fragile item such as this arrives with no packaging at all! Won’t be buying precious art supplies from Amazon again. Sadly I have two boxes of Caran D’Ache pastels on order already, am just praying they don’t suffer the same treatment…

Pencils fantastic! Packaging not so much
I bought these to complete my set. I absolutely love Caran D’Ache products, I am most grateful for their superb eye to detail to make sure that we receive their pencils in good condition as this seller doesn’t. My pencils were not in bubble wrap, box or anything just a sticker slapped on the pencil box and sent. I understand about excess plastic and cardboard but when paying top dollar for 20 pencils I do expect some protection.

They feel like a hard oil pencil in comparison to other watercolours ...
They feel like a hard oil pencil in comparison to other watercolours I own, which is much better, lay down smooth with no dust, even pigment coverage where you can be accurate or cover large areas easily. Wetted they can pop like intense, better even, or pull the pigment about to feel like you're working with watercolour paints or ink and water.Quite an amazing pencil in every respect, definitely worth the price point. Each box of 20 provides a workable palette.

Wonderfully intense watercolor hues
These Caran D'Ache watercolor pencils provide rich color and controlled application that can also be adapted to watery washes. The pencils are easy to transport for outdoor painting and offer consistently high quality light-fast pigment. They're fun to use in a range of applications, even in under-paintings for encaustic, acrylic or oil glazes.

Outstanding pencils
Whilst these pencils are expensive, they are simply outstanding when used with other water based media such as watercolours and gouache. Easy to wet and work without leaving a residue of chalky material like many of the other options on the market. Highly recommended
