Great looks, easy installation, super comfortable
I wanted something comfortable to ride around the neighborhood and relax. Installed these on my Surly Steamroller 2 speed kickback and what a great handlebar, the looks is just perfect, not too wide but still comfortable, easy installation and great value. Highly recommended. Took a 14 mile ride this weekend and it worked great.

Good inexpensive bars, but...
I like the classic shape of these bars and the 4 inch rise means you won't have to extend your stem so high to have a good upright riding position. But it appears they are designed to go best with single speed and/or coaster brake bikes. The grip section is too short to fit a hand grip plus brake lever plus bar-mounted shifters (grip shift or thumb shift). I'm disappointed about this, and my project city bike will have to use either a stem shifter or maybe end shifters. The Kalloy Tourist bar is another comparably-priced bar that may be better for my setup (but doesn't have the rise).

** FINALLY! SITTING UP STRAIGHT, NO SHOULDER TENSION! **
After much research (and waffling) I held my breath and ordered these bars along with the Sunlite Steel stem and was able to convert my craigslist 1986 Schwinn LeTour mixte to a fully upright riding position. As I said in my review of the stem, I was so happy when I sat on the bike after the conversion that I cried.Thank you other reviewers and bloggers...you gave me the courage to order the parts and the ability to finally sit completely upright. My full review of the products together and process is on the Sunlite stem page...I don't want to bore with repetition. I will say, the handlebars seem like very good quality to me. I like the straight front which will accept a basket, and the grip part was long enough for my vintage Schwinn grips plus brake levers. I have downtube shifters and, as others have noted, there is not enough room on the straight back portion to have grips, shifters, and brakes. But it worked for me. I did as another reviewer reported and angled the bars down a little, so my wrists are in their natural, straight alignment when on the grips. Am loving the whole set up! Thank you amazon and thank you reviewers!UPDATE, 2019: my bike mechanic had some vintage shifters and he was able to fit them on the handlebars along with the brake levers and grips. So it can be done. Still very happy with the handlebars and stem set-up!

Two Things
First of all, it appears that the sweep - the distance from the front to the end of the handlebars I think? I'm not a real experienced bike guy - is about 6.5 inches - it might be nice to know. It's a nicely crafted and pretty handlebar. It arrived without a receipt, simply wrapped up in cardboard. No biggee, just FYI.I rated it 4 stars because of the weird shipping experience. I ordered it and Green Canyon sent it FedEx, starting in Mississippi, going to Memphis, then Chicago, then New Berlin, WI, then back to Chicago. Then it was given to US Postal Service, who delivered it. The bar showed up in the original estimated timeline for delivery so I can't harp about it too much, it was just weird - maybe I am getting too used to this Prime shipping experience. In any event, I would order from Green Canyon again, just FYI for these two things. I like the handlebar and it was a good price.

Small and Classy Handlebar
I used these on an old light road bike from the early '80s. I love the frame and just couldn't give it up, but my old back wouldn't let me use the drop bars anymore. I paired the bars with Oury mountain bike style soft rubber grips and old style (read, Dad's 3 speed) Dia Compe brake levers. If you don't have down tube shifters like I do, or don't have a fixed gear bike...look out. THERE IS NO EXTRA ROOM FOR SHIFT LEVERS. That being said, these bars are great for me and my bike's combination. The narrower width is an A+++ for me. They are well finished, surprisingly light weight and were shipped very quickly complete with tracking information. Oh, and I eventually saw them at a bike shop for three times the price.

Well satisfied.
Good looking, and I wanted the Wald quality. I wanted comfort, and this fills the bill. Yes, the hand-grip portion is a little on the short side, but like another buyer's review, I cut a 2" section off another handle bar, cut a 5" piece of electrical conduit, put a thin coat of J-B weld on the conduit, inserted three inches of the conduit into the handlebar and placed the 2" section of cut-off handlebar on the end. Wiped off the excess, and let it 'cure' overnight. Solid as a rock.

Good Touring Handlebars
I used these handlebars to convert my mountain bike to a commuter. My original mountain bike handlebars required me to lean forward and it was bothering my lower back and neck. I was able to put my all-in-one brake/click shifters combos on the Wald 867 handlebars -- there was just enough space left for my hand grips. (I had to replace the brake and gear cables and housing as the originals were too short for the new longer handlebars.) The Wald 867 bars are a little narrow (20"). One thing I don't like about these handlebars is that the grip section goes straight back at 90 degrees and forces you to turn your wrists out in an awkward manner -- I think they would be more comfortable for your wrists if they swept out just a little.
