First impression
Okay so as for my first impression and having this product for the first 24 hours. I love it, I love how easy it is to set up, I love the LED display, and I love the functionality of it. There was definitely a learning curve for my two cats, one of them was confused but got it quickly, my younger one(1yo). My older one (8) was scared of it at first but after some persuasion and the use of wet food he came around and my now he is pretty good. First morning also that my cats were not screaming at me an hour before I wanted to get out of bed which was the BEST part. Only thing I hope to see change, maybe they might make a software update for it but the LED display only allows for one setting of when to be on and off. I would love for me to be able to change it so the display is on and off day by day and not as one set time crime. Not worth removing a star cause the function and my quality of life has improved in the first day. No screaming cats. I’ll come back in a month or two to update. But as of right now, it’s well worth the money. Oh and 3 liter capacity is really nice too. Oh and it also will stop if it detects there’s too much food cause it backs up the port it comes out. Which is nice cause it prevents jamming from getting worse or breaking. As of now if you got the money and the need, this is worth it.

Cat approved!
So far so good! I love these feeders! I have two cats who eat different foods, as well as a Frenchie, who loves to steal food from his friends. The feeders are super easy to set up and program, making feeding time a breeze! Both cats learned to use them very fast, and the food lasts for almost two weeks. I feed no more than half a cup at a time, as I found that the food will not empty all the way, get backed up, and alert me that there is an obstruction. With feeding only half a cup at a time, there are no issues. I also had to change the collar for one of my cats, as it he kept getting caught in it when scratching at it (I bought a safety silicone break away instead, which works great). I like how it alerts you when the food chamber is low, and how it logs their eating times. Great feeder!

Overall good with major downsides
The good: Easy to set up. Love having set eating schedules for the dogs. Also love tracking when they come to eat and for how long. The bad: Capacitive buttons are easily pressed by our dogs’ ears. Despite locking them, the dogs figure out that they can keep pressing them such that it will either A.) give extra helpings of food or B.) fully reset the device so it requires setup again. The Ugly: Reaching out to the manufacturer, I asked if they could implement a FW update to allow disabling the buttons. Petlibro informed me it was not an option and would only be under consideration.Overall, I really like the device. We have two and it has kept our dogs from eating one another’s food, which was especially important when one was still a puppy and ate puppy specific food. For any dog larger than a corgi, the food hopper simply isn’t large enough to justify the convenience factor and the cover mechanism is quite flimsy. It works fine, but really needs additional FW updates in the current iteration to improve the less than great aspects. It doesn’t make any sense why there isn’t a cover for the buttons or at least the option to disable them. Ideally, there would be a larger version or a hopper extension more suitable for medium to larger dog breeds.

It’s PERFECT!
My oldest kitty, Donut, was recently diagnosed with urinary crystals and requires to be on prescription food that other kitty, Mabel, cannot be on. He is also not allowed to eat her food to try and keep everything under control. Feeding them at certain times was difficult to do as Mabel is a big foodie, and if Donut didn’t eat all of his food, she would eat it all. So after much research on the many different covered automatic feeders, I decided on purchasing two of this one. It is a bit expensive but absolutely worth the price, and the kitties took up to it immediately! The setup isn’t too hard as long as you follow along with the booklet they provide, then the PETLIBRO app does the rest. Very simple and easy to set up.What I like about it is that it only opens for the specific cat whose tag you register to it. Mabel did try to bite her way into Donuts bowl, but was unsuccessful thankfully. That proves how durable it is!!! I also like that you can set up meal times to automatically dispense at a certain time at a certain amount. If you free feed, this is still possible to do per pet if you just keep track of how much food has been eaten and just refill when it gets low. You can set dispensing schedules by day and time and if you prefer for the kitties to get fed a certain amount 3 days a week and differently the other 4 days, you can absolutely easily set it up that way. The ability to also put batteries into the feeders to allow it to work in case of a power outage is a lifesaver!! If you have a kitty that is also food crazy, you can adjust the cover closing times and speed to try and help ensure that the other kitty does not steal food. I’ve also placed the feeders in different rooms to avoid this. While there are a lot of pros, there are a few cons but it isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for the overall feeder. If you schedule meal times, if the kitty hasn’t eaten the full amount, it will obviously pile onto the food in the bowl already. If your kitty isn’t much of an eater, the food will pile up and cause the dispenser to get blocked. It’s easy to fix, as I usually just open the cover in the app and use my finger to pull the blocked food down. For my kitty who doesn’t eat a ton, I have turned off scheduled feeding to avoid this from happening and just refill when it gets low. This isn’t a deal breaker whatsoever as he is still getting the food he needs! When setting up, the feeder also does talk, which may be startling for some skittish kitties. Luckily, my kitties were not fazed by it; although, I did completely turn down the voice as soon as I could to avoid them getting scared if it did talk for any reason. Lastly, the last con is the often changing and cost of the desiccant bags; although, there are alternatives that you can find online and use in place of the PETLIBRO branded bags that work just as good.Overall, this is a great product given my situation! It does its job perfectly and helps keep my mind at ease that my kitties are getting the food they need. 100% recommend!
