Quality flip bit.
Of all the quick flip drives I own, I prefer the Dewalt. It is a little fatter than the rest (which makes it a bit difficult to use in tight corners), but the auto-locking feature that allows you to flip the bit and driver without needing to relock the insert is a huge time saver. It almost spoils me. The only gripe I have is the tiny ball bearing that auto-locks the insert can become gummed over time, which then eliminates the joy of auto-lock. I resolved this with a little lubricant and cleaner. The countersinks are sharp, but be careful not to overheat or stress the bits, as they do like to snap in hardwood. The case is very sturdy, and keeps all the pieces neatly together. All in all a very fine purpose.

A really good countersink set
This is one of the better countersink sets I’ve found. I’d like a quick release of the sink/drill itself so you can switch to a driver bit as opposed to carrying both a chuck drill and an impact, for those situations where you’re carrying tools as opposed to working on a bench; however it is sturdy and high quality, which is more than I can say for all the other countersinks I’ve found in the past that break all the time.

Great counter sink tool
This is the third set of the flip drive tool set I have owned. Most of the projects I do such as benches, chairs, tables etc. need to have the screw heads counter sunk to hide them and protect user from rough edges. I do break the drills fairly often, but they are easy to replace. The flip feature of this drill set is easy to use and works great. After lots of use the bits get dull and need to be replaced, but that is what I consider normal wear. I hope DeWalt continues to make this drive kit, because I always want to have one in my tool box.

Just what I needed! Great for deep countersink drilling.
This DeWalt countersink kit is just what I needed for making deep shadowbox frames for my wife's fabric collages. I have old Makita and Husky countersink kits, but the drill bits are not long enough to countersink and drill a #6 or #8 screw all the way through a 2-1/2" thick 1x3 to attach the shadow box to the face frame. This DeWalt kit comes with extra long drill bits (including spare bits of each size) and the double set screws hold the drill bits securely in place. The four flute countersink works really smoothly for creating flush or even recessed screw heads. The "Flip Drive" bit holder works well, holding the countersink head and bit firmly in place while drilling and it's deep enough to hold a fully-extended bit when flipped to the screw-driving position. My only complaint about this set is the need for a separate Allen wrench to loosen and tighten the set screws: my old Makita and Husky countersink sets put the Allen wrench right in the shank of the bit holder so it's always handy and easy to use (due to the larger gripping area of the bit holder.) I can't imagine it would cost DeWalt much to do the same, even if they had to license the patent for this design. It would definitely be better than having a tiny Allen wrench that can get lost. If they had incorporated the Allen wrench into the bit holder I would have given this kit 5 stars.

Very stable unit
I have other drivers but this one is the best in terms of stability. The others are made entirely from aluminum which distorts after a short while due to the torque employed when the screw bottoms out. This leads to difficulty in getting the flip bit out as the flip portion is steel. I've been through several thousand screw drillings and settings with no distortion. With careful drilling I have not broken a bit as some complain of having happen. I also sharpen the bits with some regularity as I use this as a production tool for making wood novelties. I will have to purchase additional bits as some are getting to short to reach the depth I need for longer screws.

This is my 3rd set!
I use a countersink quite a bit in my woodworking endeavors, but the first time I purchased this flip drive I thought it was DEWALT how bad could it be? I have a selection on DeWalt tools and love them all but as much as I like this flip drive countersink the drill bits suck! The first set I ever purchased came from Ace Hardware, and after they saw the condition of the flip drive and countersinks and at that time I had owned this product less than 30 days, they were good enough to replace it with a new set. Set 2 lasted a little longer about 6 months but this time it was not only the drill bits but I cracked 2 of the 3 countersinks. I know this sounds crazy, but I really like this system and thats why I came to Amazon.com to purchase my 3rd set. I hope it last a little longer than the other 2 sets I've owned, I've come to the conclusion that DeWalt has become a consumer product and a mid-grade professional tool company. Maybe I am just asking too much from a 25 dollar tool. Like I said, I like DeWalt, (its no Bosch) but at the same time its not a Craftsman product either (thank God). I just think DeWalt has made the decision to make consumer grade tools since they have overtaken the tool department at places like Lowes so they can sell more tools to people who would not normally buy professional grade tools.
