Fantastic Build Quality - Reduces Humidity Below 30%
Umm, Wow.Things To Like:- Build quality is "exceptional".- Quality seals on the water tank, including lid.- Reduces humility to below 30%. This was the biggest selling point for me.I have health challenges that beg for low humidity air. Compressor and peltier dehumidifiers struggle or are unable to reduce below 30% under many conditions. The unique operating principle behind this unit, desiccant, allows this dehumidifier to reduce humidity below 30% under about any ambient condition above freezing temperatures. I almost bought their compressor model for 3-4 times the cost, but although it's much more energy efficient at higher humidities (being a compressor model), I would likely have been disappointed in the humidity reduction for high altitude air (4200ft) at 30% humidity. Soooo glad I got this rarer type of dehumidifier.Things To Be Aware Of:- energy efficiency is probably on par with peltier models at higher humidities. But at ~350 watts on High and ~175 on Low, it pulls so much more water than something that ran at ~10-80 watts, in environments where those would just stop pulling water.- In dehumidifiers, wattage translates to heat output. This cannot be avoided. If the heat is desirable such as in cold environments, it's a win-win.- compressor models are 4-5x more efficient in higher humidity environments (meaning that they also output much less heat for the amount of water that they can pull), but quit pulling water below a certain humidity threshold or at colder temperatures than this unit. Ultimately, buy from a brand that stands behind their product. I found THIS unit by searching for the highest rated dehumidifiers, and their compressor model has a 4.7 star rating, after thousands of reviews. I was impressed by the amount of education the company put into their sales material, so decided to check out their other products. Soooo glad I did.... But yeah, if you live in a warm, humid climate, think about their compressor model.Relative humidity means, well, it's "relative". Warm, humid air at low altitudes (most of the US) feels soooo much better when you can reduce the humidity 30% or more, keeping the same temperature. If you live in a hot, humid climate, you should consider a compressor model if you can afford it (often +$200; remember they are much more efficient under high humidity conditions, producing less heat for the water pulled...). Be sure to check its operating temperatures. You should NEVER operate THIS mechanical desiccant dehumidifier in ambient temperatures of 95°F or greater. That INCLUDES the rise in temperature from running this unit. Remember that its max wattage output is ~350, that translates to ~350 watts of heat. Finally, (please forgive my broken-record style, I want these guys, AEOCKY, to succeed so they can keep doing what they're doing...) I suspect the most important thing to be cautious of is operating this dehumidifier in high temperature environments, and with unfiltered air (think air purifier, and absolutely, consider their fantastic low-power air purifier; I bought one, evaluated it, then bought two more...). Using this unit in an environment of dusty air is asking for an earlier issue, if not demise. The included, built-in filter isn't for finer dust; It's mostly for hair, carpet and textile fibers, and allows better unrestricted airflow through the unit.If you want the unit to meet it's targeted life (>3 years), make sure you read all the operating literature (~5-15 mins), and treat it like it's VALUABLE, because it absolutely is. Very few companies make these types.

Edited Review Nov 28, 2024
While I appreciated the company standing behind their product, what happened after I received the replacement (as described in my original review below) has soured my feelings. After a few weeks, the replacement unit also died. As before, I discarded it and contacted the company. They offered another replacement or a refund. I asked for the refund. However, neither the listed seller nor the distributor the company directed me to nor Amazon had any record of the replacement unit. The company asked if I had a PayPal account. I do not. I suggested that they send me a check or a money order. They said they couldn't do that. Instead they asked me to purchase an item of equivalent cost and they would buy it for me. It took a few weeks, but I found something I wanted that was about the same price. I sent the company a copy of the email in which they asked me to choose an item that would be the replacement and included a link to the item I wanted. There was no response. I sent another copy of the message asking for the replacement. Again, no response. from AEOCKY. And that's where things have been for more than a month. At this point, I have lost more than $70.Below, you can read about the original order and how happy I was with the way they handled it. I no longer have any confidence in AEOCKY and suggest that anybody thinking about buying one of their products take my experience into account before placing an order.(Original Review)I was delighted when the humidifier arrived. It quickly began to draw surprising amounts of water out of the air in my crawl space. However, after a couple of months, it suddenly stopped working. With low expectations, I contacted the company and was happy to see a response within 48 hours. They assured me that they stand behind their products and asked me several questions about the unit. Included with the questions were pictures that made it much easier to see what I needed to tell them about.Within 24 hours, I got an e-mail apologizing for the problem and a notice that a replacement unit was on the way. The new one arrived 3 days later and I am happy to report that it's working just fine. For me the measure of a company is how they respond when things go wrong. AEOCKY got it right and I would not hesitate to order from them again.

Impressive
I have owned two of these humidifiers for almost a year and am quite impressed. Now granted I haven’t used the humidifiers for a year straight so I can’t know how long they will last which seems to be a running theme in the reviews, but for the times I have used them (including a number of months straight for the first one) they have performed very well. Now I am using one in my garage (I don’t know if is the first well used one or the newer one) and I am shocked how well it is bringing down the humidity in the garage on rainy days from the 60s to the 40s and even 30s. That’s what inspired me to write the review. I wasn’t even planning on using this little thing in a garage but had an urgent need due to some appliances and construction materials being stored there and see I don’t even need to buy a bigger heavier dehumidifier at all. I will update if it fails.
