Wyoming Recreation Map (Benchmark Maps)

This is a great map. It was the most useful purchase we made for the August 2017 eclipse. (The eclipse glasses were only useful for two hours, but this was helpful for days.)I figured using our mobile phones for navigation wasn't going to work well. There were zillions of people whose mobile phones weren't working because of no signal or too many folks trying to use the bit of signal that was there in eastern Wyoming.We used this map to plan out three possible eclipse sites when it became painfully apparent that the entire population of Denver was going to Glendo.It was particularly handy during the eclipse exodus. The Google Maps users pretty much stayed on the main highways. The Benchmark map helped us find our way around traffic on 85 via paved and unpaved roads--saved us hours.

I use this map on a motorcycle ride folded to fit in my tank bag map pocket. Very easy to read and has many campgrounds noted making planning easy. Has all the parks and monuments marked. It looses a star for the paper stock choice. It tears to easy after you back fold the map.

These "Benchmark" maps are very good maps. The old-fashioned folding allows for easy storage. The maps are simply paper and have no moisture resistance - so cannot use them outside the vehicle or dwelling. Sometimes there is so much verbiage on the map that it overpowers the map details. I found that on one map there was a road (I assume 4x4), but it was not included in the map's key. The best maps are made by National Geographic; Trails Illustrated.
