EMRA Antibiotic Guide, 21st Edition Review: No regrets; Everyday resource; Small pocket sized book; Clear, concise - I'm an NP and started with the 20th Edition. When I saw this new Edition, I did not hesitate to purchase. This book goes to work with me every day and I use it several times a week. The entire book is an excellent resource and one of the few to list Treatment Duration for almost every disease. PEARLS also informative and boost/reinforce my knowledge. Colleagues have purchased once I showed them and they love it too. Appreciate the Cephalosporin Reference in the back, very helpful. Use the Antibiotic Coverage Table and the fold out table in the back ALL the time, makes choosing or verifying antibiotics a breeze. Because have so much respect for this book, have also purchased their Urgent Care Guide (Management and Disposition Decisions). I don't work in Urgent Care, but it too is an outstanding resource and helps me to be a better clinician. Thank you to Dr. Brian J. Levine, all contributors and team! Review: Great for all providers in family medicine and emergency medicine. - This book was recommended by one of my colleagues at the emergency room after I asked him what his go-to apps were when assessing first-line treatment for common infections seen in family/emergency practice. There are many online and mobile apps that will give you a large amount of information but what I like about this booklet that it is simple, straight to the point and also gives you a pediatric dose range and alternative antibiotic choices for PCN and SULFA allergies. Its very compact so it fits in your scrub pockets.

Great Resource
A very precise and up to date guide on antibiotic drugs of choice in a wide variety of different infectious disease cases. It is also a wonderful handy size that you can keep with you for quick reference. I definitely recommend this book.

STAPLE for healthcare professionals/students, especially in Emergency Medicine or on clerkships.
As a medical student going into emergency medicine, this is an amazing resource. It contains antibiotic choices and standard dosing for various uses, organism coverage, contraindications, adverse effects, and interactions. So handy for a thin, pocket-size book. I put it in my scrub pant/shirt pockets, jacket, or fanny pack, and I bring it with me even if I leave all other pocket books at home. So many students, residents, and attendings refer to this resource, and it’s awesome for reviewing during any downtime. Also available to medical trainees with a membership with EMRA in addition to other EMRA pocket books. This one is the one I see used most often though and can apply to pretty much any service.

Great tool
Great. Easy to read. If you like apps. You may like the paid app better than the book.
