Convenient on-the-go portable storage. Highly recommended.
These SanDisk portable SSDs are life savers for me. I do a lot of photography/videography for a non profit and I am constantly working with files on the fly. Here's why I love them so much:- Good size physically. Fits well in your hand. Not so small you might fumble it.- On the off chance you do fumble it, it is very durable with a soft exterior. I've dropped it a couple of times and have had no issues.- Comfortable and functional grip. The soft exterior makes it even easier to hold and not drop (even though I just said I've dropped it. I'm clumsy)- It's a good storage size for the price.- USB C port is compatible with all of my gear.- File transfer times are quick. Nothing crazy, but definitely not slow.- They actually act great as their own filing system. Easy to store because they are thin, and I can put entire projects on them and easily find later. I don't label them, but if I did (and I should), they have plenty of surface area to label.I have nothing negative to say about it. I've purchased more than one and in different storage sizes. I will likely continue to purchase.

Great for large audio sample library
Got this to store a large (1TB) orchestral sample library for music production in a DAW (logic on mac macos); it needs a fairly performant drive because many samples are streamed during playback. This drive works great! But two user-error gotchas just in case this is helpful.1. At first the disk speed was much too slow, like 30MB/second (according to blackmagic speed test). Fix: Make sure the USB3 "A" cable is pushed in all the way! an extra little click. Then it's more like 400MB which is fine.2. At first the 1TB library didn't fit on this 2TB drive! Arggh! (See first attached picture.) The drive ships formatted as EXFAT, which is very inefficient for lots of smallish files; some folders were taking triple their data size. Fix: in diskutil erase and format as APFS. Now the files were more like normal size. (See second picture.)still brand new, hopefully it lasts a little while.
