Perfect Thickness to Learn Appropriate Depth
At this point, I'm just dabbling. I am in no way a tattoo artist nor do I have any plans to become one. I initially just got the tattoo gun and ink to play around, but the more I get into it, the more fun it seems. These practice skins are a GREAT way to start the process of learning depth and shading. The mat has the give, smoothness, and stretch of real skin, and it's visibly cracked if you get to a point of "overworking" were it real skin. The mat holds ink very well when the appropriate depth and force are applied and doesn't hold hardly anything if your needles are too shallow. It's very good at showing the varying darknesses of ink profusion at different depths/pressure as well, as it is very close to actual skin-tone, unlike the more "yellow" skins you sometimes see. It's a wonderful teaching tool to gain the muscle memory necessary to hit that perfect 1.5-2mm depth consistently, and the 2mm skins are definitely easier to see mistakes on quickly than the 3mms. The best part about this pack is that it comes with 10 mid-sized practice skins that are the perfect thickness to teach depth (a great deal at ~$1.40 each). The only thing I don't really like is that when you're inking, wiping away the excess leaves very dark ink stains. But you can go in with a magic eraser and some rubbing alcohol and remove most of the stain fairly easily to see where you really are when trying shading. But overall, this is an absolutely perfect kit for someone just getting into the art of inkwork.

Great!
To be honest, I've just recently started tattooing for fun...not as a professional, but what I can gather is that these skins seem to be pretty close to the real thing! They're easy to use and practice with! Highly recommend!

Decent For The Price
These are decent practice skins for teaching needle depth. They are 2mm as advertised. I know most artists prefer the 3mm so they can use both sides; however, these are great for those learning to control needle depth. They are a bit hard, so I use a layer of packing foam underneath.

2mm is good not great
These are good practice skins with consistent thickness and color. 3mm skins are preferable over 2mm in my eyes. Usually you can use both sides of 3mm, but 2mm may be a bit thin for that. This pack of skins had more of an orange color than I'd expect, though its still close enough to a skin tone to be fine. Maybe best to use these for black and white practice due to the orange tint. I'd rather have more of a neutral, realistic skin color.

Good quality practice skins
I ordered these 2 mm practice skins because I am in the process of learning to float the needle. I wanted to correct my pressure because I knew that I was going slightly too deep into the 3 mm practice skins I had been using. These skins will help me lighten my touch so I can train myself to get the needle into the dermis and not the subcutaneous layer of skin.I did push the needle all the way through these skins initially and was able to quickly adjust my pressure and depth to keep just above the bottom of the practice skin. It confirmed that I had definitely been pressing too hard when using 3 mm skin. These are good quality skins. Beyond helping me get the correct needle depth, they make it easy to see how well my lines are drawn and if my hand speed is too slow for my needle speed or vice versa.I'm happy with the quality of these practice skins. I am finding the 2 mm size very helpful to me while I learn to hit the correct needle depth consistently.

Great skins!
These are a great size and thickness for practice. Easy to use and really helps you get the feel for everything when you are starting out. This is a great bulk pack at a good price.

Works great
This practice skin is good but it is a little thin, I can still practice tattooing on it and it works just fine but I like the 3mm skin better. I can use both front and back to practice my lines and shading on and it works just fine. The skin is about 7x5 and it is 2mm thick. I received 10 pieces of practice skin and it came in perfect condition without any stains or weird smells.

great skins
I get a bunch of these to practice tattooing because it's pretty much the main way to do it without getting humans involved The skins are generally the same aside from thickness. this thickness is good - I've had 1mm and 3mm and this size is honestly fine, so I dont know if it's necessarily worth spending more to get the 3mm ones.
