Are these truly "soft and pliable"? Like actually rubbery/squishy when you squeeze them - and not the hard plastc?

These earring backs are not the very hard nor are they the very skinny backs that often are attached to newly purchased earrings. I would describe them as being softer - pliable vs. squishy, I am satisfied with this product. Hope my remarks help.

How tight are these? I have purchased some like this before and they frequently fall right off.

I’ve used these with 3 different pairs of fish hook earrings & haven’t had any problem with them falling off.

Can these be used with Stud earrings?

Yes they can.Most of my earrings are studs and these fit perfectly.

Do these backings show/stick out more behind your ear lobes more than the metal ones?

No, they don't show or stick out, but I replied positively too soon. The first pair of earrings I tried them on with were fine. However, the backs were difficult to get on some of my other earrings and I fear them bending the wire under pressure. I wish they were a little softer and not so hard to get on and off.
