"Mandolines always seemed intimidating to me (I keep hearing horror stories about people slicing their hands), but I honestly can't see a way you could possibly injure yourself with this if you assemble it properly and follow instructions. The blade is fully covered, it comes with a piece to hold your veggies against the cutting surface, so your hand never gets remotely close to the cutting surface. The only time you could possibly come into contact with the blade is when you take everything apart to clean it.The blade is definitely sharp. It sliced through all my veggies on the first pass and everything was uniform (unlike cheap mandolines I've tried). All the pieces are very sturdy and the mandoline comes with suction cups on the legs so it won't budge from the countertop as you slice. There are 2 adjustable dials on the back--one for type of cut (slice, thin julienne, thick julienne) and thickness (0-8 mm) which are easy to turn.Pieces are all easily disassembled so you can thoroughly clean everything. I believe the parts are all supposed to be dishwasher safe as well, but very quick clean-up by hand.Very good value in my opinion. It's saved me a ton of time when prepping meals."

We have a salad every day for lunch, which means lots of chopping and prep 2-3 days per week. My husband and I use mandoline slicers to speed things along. We’ve used quite a few. This new one is the best we’ve used so far. It protects my fingers far better than any other I’ve had, is very simple to operate, doesn’t require brute strength, and veggies slice up so uniformly. We haven’t used the grating blades yet, as slicing peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and radishes are what we mainly do. But I’m very impressed with the slicing. Clean-up is easy too, I just rinse all the parts when done, it has a small footprint, and all the parts fit into the base for storage, so I simply leave it on the counter. I would recommend this as I’m happy with the performance.

I get nervous using mandolines with an "e" because I'm always worried about cutting myself. This slicer has been great for me as a beginner, but I also can't help but think it would make a great gift for a range of ages and abilities. It is sturdy and easy to hold and control. Very safe product in my opinion. The dials are easy to turn and it is easy to clean because it doesn't have super small, bits and areas. Very helpful product with a big variety of styles.

Bought this mostly to make super thin slices for Fennel bulb (salad) and onions. Does an excellent job, is easy to use, and folds up flat so it doesn't take up a huge amount of storage. It will dice as well, but I'm pretty good at chopping, so unless it was for a very large amount of chopping, it isn't worth the time to take out, setup, and clean for those kind of small jobs. But for thin slicing it's fantastic. Cleaning is not as troublesome as I thought, and it is very nicely engineered to come apart easily, and allow cleaning access to all areas. Very happy with it.

Value of money and easy to use. Easy to cut onions and carrots into small pieces. Built quality is good. main blades are enclosed and is safe. It worked fine. It is not dishwasher safe and needs to be cleaned with running water. Looks like lasts for long time.
