Works pretty well
I'm pretty happy with the way these work. They seem to have included the right amount of salts in the packet to make a fire glow in an assortment of colors (I got mostly blues and greens in addition to the regular orange). In person, it actually makes quite a nice effect (it doesn't show up quite as well in photography, but you can still get a sense of it from the attached photograph).Chemically speaking, what's happening is the same effect some of you might recall from the "flame test" you might have done in a chemistry class. When heated, the electrons in these salts achieve higher energy levels. When they return to their ground state, they emit the excess energy in the form of photons of specific energies which correspond to the various colors produced.Because the chemistry involved is so simple, it would be entirely possible to just obtain the particular salts you want to produce whatever colors you want. If you were going to be doing this on a large scale, in fact, that would be a more economical solution. However, because these salts are often sold in relatively large quantities relative to the amount you need to add to your fire, I quite like the convenience of this product which has prepackaged appropriate quantities of each substance for this particular use. Yeah, it's more expensive per gram this way, but if you just want to color a few fires, this is a cheaper option than buying bulk supplies of a lot of salts.

Great colors.
The media could not be loaded. This is my second time ordering from this specific company. I find their product to be superior to other suppliers. I ordered a couple from Temu that were nowhere near as good. Not only were the colors better here, but they lasted much longer.

Just O.K.
A nice novelty to add to a fire for Thanksgiving and Christmas... Just know that it doesn't give off any color but blue. The multi-color packaging is a bit misleading--You won't get a rainbow of colors. Still, it adds a fun touch to the chimney fire during the cold months.

So much fun and we used them indoors!
We surprised our family at Christmas and bought these for some extra fun. I was a little nervous how they worked and if it would be okay inside. They come in sturdy, individual packet envelopes that you simply toss in with your logs. Super easy and very colorful!! So far we used them indoors and they worked great - No popping out on our white carpet. : ) You don't have to use very many so they last for a long time. We're about to finish building our outdoor firepit this week and I'm looking forward to using them outside, as well! Great value for the amount you get and the price!

Very colorful
Definitely stands out. My neighbor even came over and asked why my fire was blue and green. I thought about teasing her and saying it was that color because of a demonic ritual but I was nice and introduced her to this fun item.

Great for camping.
We do alot of camping and we love watching the colors in the fire at night. Great price, I have seen them priced close to $3 per packet at our camp ground store. Super easy to use, just toss into the middle of the fire and it will last for up to 30 minutes. Do NOT open the packet or it will only last for a very short time. We sometimes walk around the campgrounds and offer them to people who have a camp fire. Great ice breaker and a nice way to meet people.
