Great book holder for the grand children.

Took some time to put together but very sturdy product. I liked that it was real wood - not particle board. I didn’t install the center rails, I’m able to fit in more books that way of different sizes. Toddler loves grabbing his own books now.

I don't have anything to do with this company, but this has to be my favorite thing I've ever gotten from Amazon. I looked long and hard to find a book storage solution so my young kids would be able to easily find their own books - I wanted to instill a love of reading and books from as early an age as possible. Getting books into their hands was my priority, but I couldn't find the perfect toddler bookshelf. Now, as a grandmother, I was still searching on behalf of my grandchildren, when I found this little bookshelf. It fits ALL my requirements. It is sits low to the ground so even babies who can sit can look into it. It feels sturdy and safe (love the rounded corners!). The books are easily visible to babies, toddlers and even older ones when sitting on the ground (maybe next to a comfy bean bag chair?). The books stand up with the front covers visible (NOT the spines)! Kids can just flip through the books looking at the colorful book covers to easily find the ones they love. The adjustable dividers help keep the books from falling over. The pictures on the site only show books on one side of the divider but I found that it works well with putting larger books in back and small ones in front with the divider in-between. As a plus, the kids can not only find the books they want, but they can also put them away themselves - no more jamming into the spines of other books and wrinkling the pages. I have a child's bookshelf that stores books in rows at different heights but so much of the book covers are not visible and it is hard for little ones to get books from the top rows. This one fits more books and is much easier for kids to reach and see the full book covers by flipping through the books so I much prefer it. I placed the bookshelf next to my couch so I am ready to read whenever the kids find their perfect book. The handles ensure that I can move this bookshelf to a new location easily, even when loaded with books. It was fairly easy to put together and the directions were well diagrammed - just pay attention to which number refers to the number on the parts bag (circled numbers) and which refers to the # of those parts you will need (the non-circled numbers) and have a Phillips screwdriver ready. A regular Phillips was fine - I did not need a power screwdriver. My only downside is that the large "bolts" are only covered by stickers which may wear with time, but that is more of a potential cosmetic thing. This is going to be my new go-to baby shower gift or one-year-old birthday gift with a few little books to start off their library. UPDATE: OK - it looks like I am going to have to get another of these, my daughter (mother of four of my grandkids) fell in love with it and now it is at her house :).
