Small, quite, thorough, great robo vac
After a month of use I can say I'm very pleased with the performance of this robo vac. It's does a thorough job of cleaning my 425 sq ft apartment in about 20 minutes. Picks up my Aussie dog hair without wrapping around the newly designed rubber brush. It's very quiet and can return home without getting lost to empty and recharge for the next use. it's small size enables it to get where my larger robo vac never could. Easy app setup in no time at all. Mapping and cleaning done within 30 minutes of opening the box. If you are hesitant about purchasing this switchbot vac, don't put it off. You will not be sorry. I have not used the mopping feature so no comment regarding it.

Very happy overall--app troubles and mop limitations notwithstanding. Detailed review
ETA: I have begun using this robot vacuum in my parents’ home as well, and it has done very well overall. But I am moving my Review down one star because the vacuum has absolutely zero (and I do mean zero!) capacity to move in their carpeted bed room. It is a low pile flatweave sort of carpet that has no visible nap whatsoever to it. And apparently the vacuum either needs a hard floor to zoom over or a carpet that has some nap that it can get some traction on. It simply cannot function in their room on ANY suction setting. It practically throws its body trying to unsuccessfully move and then shuts itself off. I wanted to be sure to come here and let people know about that, as we usually think of high pile carpet is being an issue for robot vacuums. But, here, its inverse has proven completely unnavigable. And what little area it managed to move on before turning itself off resulted in no visible improvement on the hair situation. It’s simply not made for a carpet that offers it no traction. When it comes to the various throw carpets in the home, it functions fine on those. It might sometimes lift up a corner on a flimsy carpet. But it can move around on all of them. The main thing is that you need to select the carpet as an area and do it separately from the main room in order to get the appropriate suction setting (you can run the robot on a standard suction over these throw carpets just fine, but you will typically fine that you need a stronger suction for the carpet to look clean). My elderly parents were really looking forward to having the robot vacuum take care of their main floor, so the fact that it’s simply cannot do their bedroom is a huge disappointment. I also want to mention that a number of the settings in the app have proven very useful, but also some could use improved options. After the vacuum is accustomed to a space, I take off the low collision setting so that it can get into corners better. Unfortunately, in one room that does cause problems with some of the furniture that has wood flourishes that dip down too low. When the collision setting is off, it will try to go under some of the furniture at the spots where it I can’t *quite* safely get under that furniture and will resultantly turn itself off. But in most rooms, that is a good setting for it to be on. I have also put it on the highest dust collection setting so that it does a longer dust collection. I have found that this is vital for the dust filter not to get clogged up. Additionally, I will prompt the empty dustbin setting an additional final time after floor is completed. I try to empty the dust frequently if I’m around while the vacuum is running, preferably every half hour. It just makes for a finer dust collection on the floor and a cleaner filter. There is an app setting where you can select how often it will empty the dust, but unfortunately, the most frequent setting available in the app is every 60 minutes, which I find to be completely insufficient. So I hope that they will change that in the app as to offer more frequent dust collection. Whole bin will fill up in a short period of time, but if the filter is getting pretty clogged, it’s not going to perform quite as optimally. I also hope that they will change things to allow us to set more than two scheduled tasks in the app. That would be very helpful for homes where you really want the vacuum to operate on a different suction and a different number of passes in each room or where you would like it to do one pass once a week and two passes twice a week, for instance. —— I'm pleasantly surprised. I knew I had to get this vacuum because disability has long since warranted a vacuum robot, and this is the only one small enough to go between and under a decent fraction of my items in a small apartment. But I had seen a review stating that the vacuum must be opened after every use and meticulously cleaned because it clogs with fine dust and thereafter can only grabs larger particles. Well, apparently swtichbot has since taken care of that. The inside of my dustbin looked a little different than that reviewers (for this same product), and there is a powerful back suction when the robot empties. Those factors together mean that I've had no problems with the dust bin being too clogged to pick up fine dust--yeah! I do need to fully remove both the side sweeper and the rubber roller brush--and take apart the ends of the brush and snap them back together. But that is because I have long hair that tangles everything. If you have long hair, plan on doing that weekly. If your kids also have long hair, you'll probably need to do so after every use tp keep things optimal. Overall, I am impressed by how well the vacuum figures things out. But do expect initial mapping to take forever and probably involve multiple runs of your space before both it and you (you, for the things you'll have to move) have completed a successful run (it must be able to complete the job and return to its charging station by itself without errors in order to set up the initial map). And expect your first mopping run to involve new obstacles including unforeseen no-go zones where the mopping plate will struggle and freak out and turn itself off. I do not have a mobile device that is stylus enabled, and dividing up my space and setting no go zones in my space with just my finger was very difficult and frustratingly inexact. In general I found the app hard to navigate when it came to completing the map or figuring out how to give the robot instructions beyond its intuitive whole floor vacuuming project. I have the app on both an android phone and an iPad. Thankfully the app syncs between android and iOS just fine. Since my phone has better battery life, I was using it to establish the initial map, but for some reason, the switchbot app hates to be open for long on android. My phone kept rebooting itself (maybe a dozen times?). So there was some sort of weird connection issue--which I have not had with iOS. But android should still be usable; it just definitely has extra problems--at least for me. Now that I'm set up, I use either device to initiate a task. The vacuum really works wonderfully and did not bother my allergies to the degree that I expected it to despite not having the prime allergen seals. And in the long run it should be far better for my allergies than an allergen-proofed fancy vacuum for the sole reason that I'll be able to have the robot vacuum FAR more often than could otherwise be achieved. I am considering getting furniture risers for one of the pieces of furniture that it cannot get under and found that another piece of furniture it could not get under could be gotten under just by adding felt pads under the legs (mopping is another story, however, since the mop plate raises the height of the robot. The vacuum is fairly loud rolling around on my stone tiled floor but quiet on the wood floors and area rugs. The standard suction is exceptionally quiet, but the higher suctions are good to have available for some areas. I was impressed, considering it is just a wipe, with how well it mopped the stone tile with just the installed wet wipe. I didn't expect it to get some spots up that it did successfully get up. I do not feel there is enough padding nor enough protection from the hard material of the mopping plate to use the mopping feature on nice wood floors. I did a run in one wood floor room but am unlikely to do so again save on the rarest occasions. The following are pretty standard hacks, I'm sure, but I would recommend turning the mop wipe over between rooms and squirting a smidge of floor cleaning solution down in key areas of stone or vinyl flooring to enhance performance. However, don't let extra floor cleaner sit on your wood floors because the course the vacuum decides to take is pretty unpredictable. When I use the mop, I will always set it for two runs--seems necessary given the wipe's limitations. Expect the vacuum to struggle more with cords when mopping--sometimes to the point of shutting off and losing its place in the job. You'll need to have things clearer for mopping than you did for vacuuming. And furniture that the vacuum could only marginally get under for vacuuming should be set as a "no-go zone" for mopping purposes. One recommendation I would have for the app is to be able to set different areas in rooms to different strengths of suction. Presently you'd have to be watching along in the app and switching suction levels if, for instance, you wanted more suction on rugs than on bare floors or more on stone floors with their gaps than on wood floors. I have a couple of anti-fatigue mats with beveled edges in my apartment. I thought the robot would be able to climb up those, but it cannot--it also gets sufficiently thrown off by them that it cannot just circumvent them. They must either be wholly removed or set (with my frustratingly inexact finger) as a no-go zone. I'm soooo relieved that this smaller vacuum was produced. Long may it live!

It's small and easily navigates the apartment!
The product was very easy to set up. The app guided me through the process and I didn't face any issues there. After I got everything set up, the app asked me if I want to set a "Do Not Disturb Time" so that the vacuum will not resume cleaning automatically, play voice prompts or empty dust during that time. The vacuum mapped out the apartment very accurately and managed to get through all parts of it. The suction level is very good. I do have a dog and it managed to remove all pet hair. The sound level is decent and you will notice it when it is running. I love that I do not need to empty it frequently. When it finishes cleaning, it goes back to the base and empties the dust. The experience has been very pleasant so far. I did try to connect it to my Matter ecosystem but the vacuum didn't show up properly (I don't think Matter supports robot vacuums as of today). Long story short, I definitely recommend the product.

Does not do a good job. The cheaper mops do better job

Great robot vacuum for my apartment!
I have a few other switchbot devices like the blind tilt I had really liked so I figured I would try out their new vacuum now that my roomba is outdated. I've been super happy with it and it's now what I use daily! The smaller size has been super great, it also looks a lot nicer being sleek white than some of the other vacuums. Maybe it's the sensor on top but I find that it's barely running into things and does a great job moving around corners and chairs. The first run took a while for it to fully map my apartment, but now I have it target certain rooms and it's super fast! I tried the mopping feature once and while it's fine, it's not something I'll use often. App is great and I can't wait for the matter support later on!

It is very easy to do the setup. It has plenty of smart features. I love the edge brush, it cleans a lot better in the corners. It can also clean in between chairs and it can squeeze in small spaces. Mopping is not the best but I only use it for vacuuming. The station is a bit loud so you might want to account for it as you can vacuum in other rooms as the vacuum can be very quiet. It has room mapping so you can vacuum in a specific room which is great and also has no go zones. You can hook it up with most smart homes. The roller is great for hairs compared with my old one. But all in all, great power and the fact that is so small and goes to places that my old one wasn't, it is great. Would definitely speak about this with all my friends.
