Davey's last album, recorded just a year before his death. This album may not be his greatest work, but as always, his genius comes through and there are touching and revealing moments. Davey is much missed by all those who sat at his feet in the 1960s and wondered at his style and they way he made obscure and popular tunes his own. This CD is well worth the price of admission and every fan of his should add it to their collection.

An Album not to by judged by your normal standards.....
Judging this album by the normal criteria is very much the same as judging a Harley Davidson by normal motorcycling standards - pointless! I view it like this:- it's the last album Davey Graham recorded (2007) before his very sad death in 2008.- it's the first he recorded since 1991 (I think). The album itself comprises a series of original songs and new arrangements of traditional songs, and it has to be said that at this point he was a shell of his former self in terms of guitar playing - that said there are certainly echoes of the past in there. All in all, the best word I can find to describe this album is 'charming', and although it seems odd given Davey's age at the time, another word that springs to mind is 'naive'...in that, he does on this album what he's done on every other - plays what he wants, and if you like it, you like it, and if you don't, you don't.I love this album - it's a grower, you might not get it at first (especially if you compare it to his earlier work) but a little persistence will certainly pay off.

Nice but shame
Nice music but can't play it. Think the disc is a home made effort. My expensive player doesn't like the disc it clicks badly. Shame.

Too bad about his death
I carried 'Folk, Blues and Beyond' for ages plus John James, John RenbournBert Jansch, Wizz Jones, Ralph McTell, and especially John Martyn - I was 17 when I saw him he must have been about 20.Then came Basho, Fahey plus all the old blues men but his (Davy's) 'She Moved Through the Fair' on the Hull University album must be one of the best pieces ever recorded
